Black as coal with a creamy tan head, thick as the afternoon haze over Tel Aviv. Signature stout roastiness, soft like velvet with a little something extra (no, not date honey).

Bottle: Thanks DSG: Chouffe glass: Creamy beige head. Close to very black body. Aroma is ligt, some roast, liquorice, chocolate, bay leaf, malt roast, sweet roast, floral, flowers and fruit. Not strong but good soft mix of inviting sweet ish/fruity roast tones. Flavour is bretty with toast/roast, bitters, malts, nits, caramel, light earthy, light fruity and again some floral tints. If brett is used it gives the crispy fruity floral tint in bith aroma and flavour. Nice. Aftertaste is bitter, malty, toasty, nutty and light bitter. Low carbo, loght creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied.

Bottle [from Euro Swap 2015-2 thanks to tomer] @ home. Opaque dark brown color, full sized light brown colored head that lasts for quite a while and leaves fair lacing. Aroma is malts, a little earthy and a little sweet. Taste malts, light to moderately bitter, a hint of earth and slightly ash. Decent body and carbonation.

330 ml. bottle split with Beerlover_Ben. Obtained in the big Israeli trade. Blackish, little but solid mocha head. Nose is glue, earthly liquorish, light sweet coca-cola, lightly metallic. Taste is glue, sweetish plastic, liquorish, herbal, thin, plastic, berries, light bitterness,… Rather thin. Not very impressive but drinkable for sure.

Draught at Benny’s Cask Ale Pub, Kfar Saba. Dark black with medium creamy beige head. Light aroma of roasted malt, notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Sweetish flavor of roasted malt, notes of coffee and dark chocolate, moderate bitterness, faint ash notes. Light carbonation, creamy texture, medium to full-bodied. The cask version is very nice and easy to drink.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2015 9/13/2014 On tap, tasted 100ml during Beers 2014 festival beer tasting. Pours very dark brown to black. Soft carbonation. Thin gentle body. Tastes slightly sweet. Flavors of espresso, rich dark chocolate. Very interesting. Nice. AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 6/2/2015 Bottle, 330ml. Pours black with a medium tall, short lasting foamy dark brownish head. Aroma is unique and pleasant: Strong dark malt, slight coffee, corn, roasted notes and somewhat fruity, slightly yeasty. Body is quite light and slightly watery, carbonation is quite soft. Tastes is mostly sweet with very little roasted grain bitterness. Taste of dark roasted malt, very obvious, yet subtle smokey notes - whiskey like. Some coffee, slight chocolate, some light fruity hop flavors. Flavors of corn, vanilla, bread, yeast, somewhat like a wheat beer. AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20

330ml bottle poured into a pint glass. Hazy dark brown with a small dark tanned head. Nose is full with dark chocolate and coffee, with pleasant roast and some milky notes. Roasted malts flavors, with chocolate, cream and low bitterness. Not very dry, lacks some hoppiness, round and too malty. OK.
