COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black as coal with a creamy tan head, thick as the afternoon haze over Tel Aviv. Signature stout roastiness, soft like velvet with a little something extra (no, not date honey).

From tap: nice beer!, the first israeli beer which is not crap, it’s actually quite good. More of a porter then a stout, light-medium bodied, it’s also less bitter then your usuall stout, flavor wise it has a mocha and chocolate milk and some dark fruits notes.

At a tasting in YK23 house in Haifa during brewing Brown Porter, 330ml bottle, pours black color with short ecru head, like espresso, coffee, toasted malt and bittersweet chocolate aroma, bittersweet chocolate and coffee taste, medium-light body, flows, feeling slightly bitter and lively carbonation palate, maybe a little too much lively, sweet and bitter aftertaste, overall a superb beer, although the taste is slightly disappointing relative to the aroma.

Draught at the Dancing Camel brewpub. Pours black, opaque with a thin brown head. sweet roasty aroma, with hints of cheery chocolate and espresso. Soft bitterness, some roast and alcohol in the mouth. Soft carbonation, smooth, lingering bitter finish and a full body. I get to like this beer more and more.

Almost black, lightly brown head. Coffee aroma but not dominating - with notes of grapes, wine: quite well balanced, but not very complex. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Ok, but not brilliant.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Theis. Pours a very dark brown - close to black - with an orange hue and a beige head. Medium body, sweet pleasant roast and both chocolate and licorice. Subdued bitterness. Really nice - but not that dry. 250711
