Spicy Hopped Amber Ale
An easy drinking amber ale. Earthy aromatic American hops are balanced with biscuit malt flavours leading to a spicy, peppery finish.

BlackHaddock (4985) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - NOV 24, 2014
Cask, hand-pulled half-pint in Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates on 19th Nov 2014. Light amber pour with a full white crown. Malty lead to the nose and flavours, dry feel to the brew, some faint fruit and biscuity hints within the maltiness: hop bitter finish. Decent, but not really exciting or different to the other beers I tried around it during the session.

Cask, The King’s Head, Leicester. Aromas are biscuit malts with sharp lemon and mineral notes. Leafy with light tinned pineapple juice and spices. Flavours are biscuit with bittersweet lemon and underlying dark toffee and chocolate. Woody with traces of liquorice and a dry finish. Nice.

downender (7046) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 7, 2014
Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol. Amber with a decent, and frothy, off-white head. Big orange fruits, sweetish, rich tea biscuit malts, plenty of leafy hops and a decent, bitter finish. Enjoyable.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. A brighter looking amber ale with a small creamy head. The aroma is more sugary than fruity but the latter aspect is slightly more evident in its taste. Easy to drink.

(Cask at Dean Swift, Tower Bridge, London, 23 Nov 2013) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with orange, apricots and toast. Malty, fruity taste with notes of peaches, orange, soft and chewy malt and a balanced earthy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Quite nice.

A light coloured beer with a sulphur sweet, toffee nose. An unusual meaty taste gives way to a buttery, caramel finish.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2014 1) Handpull, Nunfest, Sperrin Brewery Stadium, Nuneaton, 13/07/13. Copper red with a slim fine collar. Aroma of berries, a hint of rosemary, stale orange sweets. Barley sweets, dankness, herb and bitter linger on the tongue. Reasonable. 2) Gravity, 7th Hinckley BF, 11/09/14. Bugger- a duplicate. Shit happens. No head over pale twiggy brown. Nose of wholemeal and dog biscuits. Soapy dirty flowers with cocoa taste watered heavily. Hints of melon. Another beer gone. 535313.

On tap at The Wellington, pours a clean copper with a small white head. Aroma of English hops and bready malt upfront, with some herbal notes further back. Flavour brings out English hops, bready malts and some light toffee notes. Smooth and lightly bitter body. Highly drinkable stuff, but nothing overly exciting.
