Cask; Regular.
Delicious malty, caramel and liquorice flavours combine wonderfully in a velvety smooth drinking stout with a freshly roasted coffee and toffee finish.

Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Near black with a beige foam. Aromas are coffee and liquorice with dark chocolate and nutty notes. Blackberry and dark cherry with light perfumed soap. Underlying caramel and toffee with some smokiness. Flavours are bittersweet dark, nutty chocolate with peat and dry roast coffee. Winter fruit with Xmas pudding notes. Dry and fruity on the finish. Very enjoyable.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Quite much pitch black colour with a small beige head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, mild liquorice and roast with some slight toffee as well. Flavour is rather similar in a very pleasant balance. Rather bodied for being only 4.5 %.

Off tap at the exeter arms (dancing duck outlet). Very tasty sweet stout. Especially nice for such a small abv.

Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Very dark brown with cream head. Rich fruity beer with Blackcurrant, blackberry notes, some wine like notes plus a caramel note giving depth. Pretty decent.

Dusty malt waft, disappointing lack of an expectant milk choc head that that gleams through the initial palate. Malty finish after an impoverished mainstay body. Too clinical overall to make any worthy distinction. (Cask, Bow Bar, Edinburgh (Winter Beer Fest))

On Cask at Micro Bar in Manchester. Not quite to my taste but a coffee, liquorice, caramel nose with a bit of chocolate. Charcoalness to this, as previous reviewer put and its slightly off putting. Good beige head to a dark brown stout though. Flavour of chocolate and roast. Complex and satisfying.

Cask handpull at Exeter Derby. Black dark brown. Lasting beige head. Some charcoal. Its ok but too much dusty charcoal for me. Not my thing
