Cask@Reading BF. Initially there was some unwanted diacetyl and butterscotch in the aroma and flavour, but as i worked my way through the beer it seemed to die down a little and it ended up being quite a decent bitter. Some toffee and then citrus hops to finish, finishes dry, with a medium bitterness.

Cask Stillage at the Community Centre, Frodsham 07/05/2005 Amber golden coloured slightly sour fruit flavour and rich on the palate. Some dryness in a malt finish.

The very first brew from this brand new brewery making its debut at the Reading beer Festival. Rich copper colour. As Duff has remarked, there was a distinct whiff of diacetyl on the aroma, which I always find off-putting, but that soon subsided. Dry and towards the malty, rather than hoppy, end of the spectrum. Clean and firm. After the unpromising first aroma impression, this ended up as a promising first effort. Cask (gravity dispense)
