3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour on tap at APN 2013, dark black pour with tan head, aroma was dark chocolate, baker’s chocolate into roast, lactose, slight dark fruits and coffee in there as well, focused on the bitter chocolate. Taste was roast, coffee, and dark fruit into dark cocoa, cocoa powder, finishing fairly bitter, slight milky notes but mainly just added to the body. Tasty.

Tap at the brewpub. Dark pour, not too heavy, very small head. Rich bakers chocolate and a touch of lactose. Sweet but not overly so. Tasty stuff.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draught at the Dangerous Man brewery taproom in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates and leaves behind some excellent lacing. Aroma of lactose and roasted dark malts, some chocolate nibs, and some floral hops. Taste is full bodied, soft carbonation with flavors of roasted dark malt, Baker’s chocolate, lactose and a hint of vanilla. Finish is quite smooth. Semi-sweet with some vanilla presence at first that quickly vanished and leaves behind lactose and roasted dark chocolate aftertaste. A solid Sweet Stout throughout.

Minnesota Winterfest 2013. Black color with a small head. Dark chocolate aroma with a light earthy hop note. Strong lactose flavor. Bittersweet chocolate. At least moderate bitterness, which I found a bit odd for a milk stout, but it still works great.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Winterfest 2013. My first Dangerous Man beer. This is one of the best sweet stouts I have ever had. Some lactose, and considerable chocolate. Very smooth palate and roasted malt. Good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Decent chocolate, not overwhelming but clearly the driving force. I felt the aroma was something like I sensed walking outside of Amsterdam coffee houses but my friend (with infinitely more marijuana experience than I) said otherwise. Still, a richly textured beer. (on tap at brewery taproom)

Growler courtesy of Falco242. Hazelnut notes in the Jose much more so than chocolate. Fully opaque body with a thin tan head. Very smooth with a moderate dry chocolate taste. Hint of hops in the finish. Very good and drinkable. A little under carbonated presumably due to a week in the growler but not so much that you notice it. I only thought about it after I remembered I was drinking out of a growler. May have a slight impact on the beer’s quality. Very good.
