I didn’t add it, but I’m the first to rate it. Obriens had a number of his tribute beers on tap, and this was one of them. 100 pct of all money was donated to his family. Dark red brown pour with thick big dense tan head. Nose is lightly sugar sweet malty with green grape hints. Taste moves around a lot. Copper penny and bloody sweet is first. Bit of metallic sharp. Tart prune, lightly, to fuzzy dry yeasty back. Sweet alcohol. Gooey throat.

Appearance: Mucky browns under a bubbly tan head which fades with patches of khaki lace. Swirls with a ton of lace.
Nose: Spicy right off the nose. Dark pitted fruits and old wine. Smoke, tobacco, and char. Rum in the back. Black cake.
Palate: Spicy, meaty, leathery, nutty, and pitty – dry mouth-parching tannins galore. Bakers chocolate, raisins, and black bread soaked in rum. Cigar leaf underneath. Burnt honeycomb.
Final Thoughts: This was a truly intriguing beer for me and ultimately I ended up liking it quite a lot. Rich, complex, parching, and almost of another time, an older time of Gentleman’s Clubs, cigars, and martinis. Unfortunately for all my readers out there, this beer is retired and no longer in production.

750mL bottle. Pours a ruby brown. Like messy double I’d say. Has a moderately strong aged caramel character.

Bottle at thirdeye11’s birthday party. Brown with a white head. The aroma has a lot of caramel and toffee malt. The flavor is very similar. I get a lot of nuttyness, as well as some brown sugar, toffee and caramel. Fairly sweet. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle shared at Chad’s birthday. Reddish pour with an off-white head. Aroma is nutty, light vanilla, and toasty. Taste is light bread, lots of dark fruit, vanilla, and more nuts.

(750ml) cloudy deep amber, lasting creamy tan head. Nose of raisin, saccharin, dark fruit, cream. Taste of saccharin, raisin, graham cracker, not bad.

Sampling courtesy of friend Paul B. Poured at a good temperature with a nice, foamy, tan head that soon settles and no lace. Aroma is fairly mild with only slight whiffs of dark, ripe fruit, malt and some metallic notes (iron?). Flavor’s much like nose, with some bitterness and carbonic tang balancing a slight sweetness. Body and carbonation are good. Finish is like flavor, slightly long and very drinkable. I’d have another if I could.

Pours a brown color with an off-white head. Nose has sweet toasted malt base with light spice, dark fruits, toffee, and mild booze. There’s some hints of metal in there and a fair amount of bread. The flavor is better than the nose. Nice toffee, bread, and toasted malt sweetness. Some banana, dark fruit, and spice notes from the yeast, too. A hint of alcohol on the finish. Nicely sweet overall.

Poured out of 750 mL bottle, thanks Aaron! Dark reddish brown pour with thin off white head, aroma has notes of mineral, some toffee, caramel, hints of biscuit, bread some slight anise, dark fruit notes. Taste is a nice mix of dark fruits, mineral, some slight caramel, touch of cocoa with a touch of anise. Pretty nice, but nothing amazing.
