1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 BeerLimey (2136) - USA - DEC 13, 2002
Pale yellow, slight haze, poor head formation. Malt and alcohol in the aroma, while the palate is pretty bland and watery with just a little sweetness in the finish. Needs a lime (or a urinal).

Pours light golden. Thin head that goes fast. Smells wierd. Grassy or Vegetable. Couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Tastes wierd too. Grassy or Vegetable. A little sweet. Thin. A little on the fizzy side.
Went okay with Indian food. I wouldn’t drink this by itself for any reason.

An odd-tasting beer, sort of like a beer/apple juice hybrid. Other than that little to no flavor or character. Just not very good overall.

350 ml bottle from Taste of India. Pale yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma reminds me of a drain I once cleaned. The taste... the taste tastes like what I imagine a sweaty foot might taste like. Blucky.

Yet another "pale lager". This one has a nice white head though. Distinct perfume and basement aroma. Strange celery flavor with malt and earth notes. really not so good.

Definitely not a pilsner. Tons better than a bud. Even so, too light on hops. Picture this with curry? The malt character probably would offset the heat. I’d order it in an Indian restaurant.
2.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Nuffield (3087) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - JUN 19, 2005
I thought the appearance here was less than is to be desired--a very sickly yellow with edges of lighter yellow-to-white, and a very fizzy head that burns off completely very quickly, leaving a dead-looking beer. But the aroma...that aroma...that was actually quite good. There was something in its sweetness that reminded me of a Belgian ale, if only it could benefit from a blinded test. However, the flavor was more traditional for an Indian lager, with a malt liquor-like malt backbone and the scarcest hints of hops. Somewhat heavy palate, insufficiently carbonated for a beer that I was hoping to relieve me of some heavy Indian spices. On the other hand, I’ve dissed other Indian lagers for being too fizzy, so maybe this isn’t that bad. Still, compared to the possibility in the aroma, the flavor was a real let-down. Drinkable, certainly, and avoiding the worst cardboard and adjunct flavors sometimes found in the genre. (Bottle at the Taj Mahal, Indian restaurant on Central Expressway south of Royal Lane, Dallas, for the Sunday lunch buffet on Father’s Day.) 2005.)

Pale piss yellow, no head. Only the slightest hint of some malt. Tastes like a bad Bud (like there’s a GOOD Bud). Yuck.

Bottled. Bright golden, brief creamy head. Sweet, low on carbonation and with rich crystal malt character. Low bitterness. Clean and surprisingly good for an Indian lager.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 TheBelgian (24) - USA - JAN 11, 2003
Rough on the palate. Sour finish. Not much to to be impressed by except that it is weel carbonated and looks great in the glass.
