Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 13, 2004 The aroma is very sweet with strong notes of flowers, but also alcohol and honey. The color is orange and it has no head. The flavor is quite sweet, but not too much, and it has strong notes of honey but also flowers noticably elderberryflowers. The alcohol runs warming and tickling over the tongue. omhper (10456), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 27, 2006 Bottled. Clear amber. Aroma of honey, herbal spices and alcohol. Very sweet, and the smooth warming qualities of Vikingernes Mjød is replaced by burning alcohol and intense sweetness. In the end it tastes more like vodka diluted with honey than anything else. I’m not very impressed, even though some of the herbal notes are really nice . Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 7, 2005 Updated: May 14, 2007(Ceramic bottle 75 cl) Clear, very dark amber. Dark, vinous notes - not unlike port. Distinct sweetness, but the honey notes are not as strong as in other meads. Extremely complex and refined flavour pattern with impressions of dried or even overripe fruit. Lovely warming alcohol. 170605 yespr (6373), Copenhagen O, Denmark Apr 6, 2008 25 cL bottle. Pours almost clear and golden orange with no head. Honey, wineous and raisin sweet aroma. Sweet flavour with a solid floral and honey note.
