COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: The oldest known recipe for mead to be written down in the Nordic countries was in 1520 by the Archbishop Olaus Magnus. The recipe comprised of water, honey, hops and brewers yeast, and concludes, that "on the eight day - or earlier in emergencies - the mead may be drunk, but the longer it is left, the purer, better and healthier it will be." Our products are brewed based on a recipe from about year 1700, and the ingredients are pure and 100 pct. natural - guaranteed free from additives of any kind. Honey is the major and most important item in the recipe.

Great mead. Not a beer by any stretch, but entertaining flavour, good ginger addition and a smooth taste.

If you’re like me, your idea of mead is a bunch of guys in Viking helmets gulping down tankards of the stuff. I found out the hard way that’s not the best idea--it’s kind of like trying to choke down a bottle of Marshmallow Fluff all at once. If try sipping this mead instead of gulping, it’s actually quite nice. The ginger and hops add a nice flavor to what might otherwise be an overpowering sweetness and alcohol, and the taste and finish is very smooth with a nice mouthfeel. I’ve tried a few meads since and this is still my favorite. One downside, though--this is very pricy.

I just don’t get meads, what beers do you know that are near 20%? From a bottle at Vintage Estates, such a nice place; 6 - 2oz samples of mead for $15, tax included. Looks like pale lager. Sweet honey flavors but laid back compared to klapojster. Oily and winelike of course. Smell is rather like leather and light. Cannot taste advertised hops.
