Mead tasting Taphouse. Ceramic bottle. No head. This mead was clear but a bit darker than the other mead we tasted. The combination of the honey and the herbs from the Riga Balsam is distinct both in aroma and flavor. It is however, still very sweet with heavy alcohol notes. Long finish.

ClubGonzo (4725) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 5, 2014
Bottle from duty free shop @ Billund Airport. Dark copper-hued amber body. Aroma is intense alcohol and schnaps tones, herbs and hints of licorice, grass and burnt sugar. Taste is licorice, herbal schnaps notes, burning alcohol and hints of caramel and burnt sugar. Medium body, warming alcohol. A bit too boozy for me, but the herbal touch works well. Not too bad, but somehow the intensity of the alcohol doesnt match the flavor profile in a mead-kinda way; instead, the whole thing becomes like an Unterberger light or something. Still, not too bad.
