Mead at the meadfest, really odd, tons of caraway which isn’t that great. Good base though, boozy

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Goldeny orange colour with no head. Aroma is sweet honey, mild spices, some slight alcohol and a mild "acidic" tone to it. Flavour is very sweet thick honey, mild spices, alcohol and some syrupy notes as well. Mild sprucelike notes too. A bit strong on the alcohol for being really balanced.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Strong alcohol smell along with the obvious honey. Taste is marshmallow sweet with a little spice (maybe cinnamon?) and alcohol in the finish. More of a dessert cordial than anything else. Kind of reminds me of Frangelico.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The alcohol taste is a little overwhelming, plus it could be a little less sweet. It’s good, but I like Dansk Mjod’s Viking Blod a lot better.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at the RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting, London. Pours clearish yellow. Sugar and honey in the nose. Very sweet flavor with some alcohol sting. Great honey character. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Warm and sticky with pure honey on the finish. It has an impressively authentic honey character. I’m lovin’ it. One of the best meads I’ve had.
