Thick syrupy floral sweetness. Almost like port wine. Viking vampires give it two horns up.

If blood would taste like that Id easily be addicted I guess. This one is so special, so lambic-style and fruity - I wondered it was a mead. A touch of honey, but the rest is fresh fruits, some fermentation and a deep body with a bit of grain in the back. Wonderful.

Sample by courtesy of Meilby - thank you, Kenni! The mead has got a hazy light brown colour with a smooth body. Aroma of honey and herbs. Taste of herbal and characterful honey, sage, green hops and flowers. Herbal finish with an intense honey aftertaste. Smooth to drink, enjoyed it.

Bottle share. Clear gold, long legs. Aroma of burnt honey, wood, earthy sap, and a lot of alcohol. Taste is all sweet. Mouthfeel is nicely smooth and abv is masked great.

Very, very shocked at the high ratings. What was poured for me at my local pub could have easily been confused with nail polish remover. No notes of honey at all though there were an almost "perfumey" aroma to the pour.

Clear deep golden with no head. Yeah surprise surprise. Fruity, flowery, honey and alcohol in both aroma and flavor. Decent mead if you ask me.

Picked it up for an evening with friends who are wine and beer drinkers - one who is closing in on a Ph.D. in history. The packaging (including the notation it came from a recipe dating back to around 1700) made it a fun an appealing treat to be passed around for tasting and discussion. I loved it - as did they.
