3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted at Greg’s honey-themed beer gathering, thanks for sharing Vyvvy. It poured a slightly hazy amber colour, still, no foam nor lace. Strong aroma and flavour of honey, floral and earthy with smooth alcoholic heat, some black pepper spice presumably from hops. Medium body, well-rounded mouthfeel, no carbonation, with a sweet aftertaste. Seemed boozier than their Klapøjster despite the slightly lower abv percentage. Definitely well-crafted and tasty, an awesome historical learning experience, but I still prefer a good beer.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from duty free shop @ Billund Airport. Pours a clear deep amber body with no head. Nose is hibiscus, grass, pine and hints of honey, cellar mold and booze. Taste is alcohol, hibiscus, cellar mold and hints of pine and grass. Burning alcohol with slight smokiness in the finish. Slick body. Interesting stuff, though not quite tasty enough for a real high score.

2.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Past bottles I would have rated WAY higher however this last bottle has a very nasty taste and I don’t know if the batch was bad but it isn’t close to previous versions. Hopefully it is a fluke and I will change my rating.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at The Alchemist. I’m new to meads, so bear with me.
This was funky. Aroma was flat ginger ale, slightly floral. Taste was sweet...sticky, slightly carbonated, nice floral notes to the honey. I kept coming back to "flat ginger ale". Some spiciness I couldn’t identify. I did get some citrusy notes from the hops but it was mostly a floral component.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 200ml, from the National Museum in Copenhagen. A slightly cloudy golden colour with no head. Aroma is fragrant and floral. An intensely sweet flavour with notes of elderflower and apple. Super-sweet honey evident in the finish. Alcohol is fairly evident with a little burn. Almost syrupy texture. Rather enjoyed this but it’s too sweet for regular drinking!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, 70cl stoneware. A more or less clear one, amber in color, quite oily. No carbonation or head. The aroma is quite flowery, with heather honey and alcohol. Some earthy and citrusy hints. It’s sweet and honey tasting with some flower and berries. Way too warming I think, full bodied and velvety on the palate. Lasting finish with some berries and herbs and quite a lot of honey and sweetness, and of course alcohol. Wouldn’t mind this one with the alcohol subdued. As it is now it’s way, way to warming. 140331
