Tallahassee, Fl - Fermentation Lounge - poured from a bottle (thanks drowland!). Murky medium orange with no head. Heavy honey fragrance - almost liqueur - like. Flavor has some hot honey accents, some smoky notes, a hint of date-like sweetness. Belly-warming and boozy. Sticky mouthfeel.

4/6/12. 750mL bottle. Hazy orange-ish color, almost like a wheat beer, with no head of course. Thick, tight legs. Huge honey aroma with touches of band-aid and tons of alcohol. Rich, sweet honey flavor with more of that burnt band-aid aspect. Meh.

Bottle. Slightly hazy yellow with no head. Aroma is honey, little perfume and a little alcohol. Flavour is honey, sweet, spices, perfume, rich, little herbs, little wood and and alcohol.

Tasted on 1/26/12 from a 750mL bottle. Pours hazy yellow-orange. The nose is sweet, fairly light, honey, with some floral bitterness and alcoholic heat that burns my nose. The flavor is fairly sweet honey, with the same fruity and floral note from the nose, and just a hint of bitterness. The body is full, cloyingly so, with a very long honeyed, lightly bitter finish. This is a pretty excellent mead.

To me this is what mead should taste like. Sweet honey flavor with a smokey hop flavor as the mead rolls over your tounge. I have had it warm, room temp. but by far my favorite way to drink it is on ice. My favorite adult beverage.
