Bkttle shared at RBWG, poured a clear yellow color wih aromas of sweet honey, apples, and some light metal. Flavors were sweet honey and apples with a semi sweet finish. Thanks to the person who brought this bottle.

Floback (523) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - JUL 15, 2014
Bottle from Payless Liquors in Southport, IN. Pours a slightly fizzy golden body. The aroma is spicy and sweet with notes of herbs and seasonings that I could never identify. Flavors are robust with licorice, more herbs, butterscotch, caramel, vanilla. A smooth, fiery burn warms the throat as it goes down. Very interesting. Gets on top of you quick, though. I dont recommend sampling this as youre trying to study Anatomy for medical school! On second thought, DEFINITELY do exactly that. Adds perspective.

ClubGonzo (3951) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 5, 2014
Bottle from Fine Foods Kastrup Airport, Copenhagen. Pours a clear light golden body. Nose is alcohol, honey, nuts and mild floral tones with hints of undefinable spices. Taste is booze, honey, strange leathery marzipan notes, metal and hints of flowers and bitter herbs. Full, yet alcohol-thinned body. Far too alcoholic for its own good, and with some other off-tones going on at the same time (fusel, perhaps). They really ought to stop putting extra spirit in this one, and rather make a lower ABV with more drinkability. I fail to see how this one can have such a high rating; this is one of the worst commercial meads Ive had in a long time.

First this should not be served cold, nothing but acetone and burnt honey. When it warms up a bit it develops that wonderful almost roasted honey front middle and finish. The mouthfeel is thick and syrupy, with a hint of bitter in the finish. Wonderfully warming the whole way down and then some. No carbonation, thus no head but the wonderful nectar clings to the side of the glass.

Benzai (7340) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - AUG 31, 2013
Sampled @ RB Danish Summer Gathering 2013 day 2, Ulfborg. Stone jug. Clear yellow-light golden color, no head. Aroma is quite alcoholic, a bit chemical, liquor and vinegar. Taste sweetness, some alcohol, some candy sweetness combined with strong alcohol. Somehow pretty drinkable.

Thanks to the kind soul who shared this bottle at RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours a clear still yellow. Nose is big honey with some metallic notes, huge booze, and a bit of honeycomb. Flavor is similar with honeycomb, booze, sugar, and mild fruit. Medium in body for a mead and not bad overall.
