Bottle from Au Grain DíOrge, Crissier
Dark brown color, with a small head. It has a nice smokey aroma, peaty. The beer flavor (some caramel) is simple, a bit sweet and dusty, with moderate smokeyness, and low bitterness. Simple.

Bottle. A dark amber colored beer with a minimal sized off-white head. The aroma has a healthy dose of Islay whisky, leaving little room for other aromas. Some caramel and nuts though. The flavor too is a bit on the Islay side, almost like chewing on peat and wood. A faint note of vanilla in the far back. Full body, soft carbonation. A quite nice beer, but itís too one dimensional and on the whisky side for me. 120622

Bottled, thanks Bov! Clear mahogany colour. Distinct smoky licorice and tar aroma, Illeach style. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Heavy on peaty tarry smoke. Quite intense - the barrel has certainly had huge effect here.
