Bottled, thanks Bov! Clear mahogany colour. Distinct smoky licorice and tar aroma, Illeach style. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Heavy on peaty tarry smoke. Quite intense - the barrel has certainly had huge effect here.

Bottle from Au Grain D’Orge, Crissier
Dark brown color, with a small head. It has a nice smokey aroma, peaty. The beer flavor (some caramel) is simple, a bit sweet and dusty, with moderate smokeyness, and low bitterness. Simple.

Bottle. A dark amber colored beer with a minimal sized off-white head. The aroma has a healthy dose of Islay whisky, leaving little room for other aromas. Some caramel and nuts though. The flavor too is a bit on the Islay side, almost like chewing on peat and wood. A faint note of vanilla in the far back. Full body, soft carbonation. A quite nice beer, but it’s too one dimensional and on the whisky side for me. 120622

Bov (9424) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - SEP 21, 2011
bottle@erzbierschof’s bar - cloudy dark brown beer under a fair pale beige foam left; nice lacework; a fair smokiness with whisky-like notes of caramel in the background; velvety palate and quite full-bodied, tasty and with a long smokey, caramelish and whisky-like aftertaste - subtle and complex
