A bounty of American hops deliver the signature clean and crisp finish of a perfectly balanced West Coast style IPA.

Pours gold with a dense white head. There is a subtle citrus aroma with orange, floral, grass, and malt notes, but not as strong as I would expect in a West Coast IPA. Moderately hoppy with citrus, malt, pine, and resinous flavors. The mouthfeel is smooth with a light to medium body, but a bit under carbonated. Not a bad beer but definitely needs more carbonation and a bigger hop punch.

On tap. Minor head, maybe half a finger. Next to no lacing with a nose thatís almost completely caramel malt. Some citrusy hops that are almost outweighed by the grainy backbone. Lighter body for an IPA with plenty of carbonation. Not my favorite take on the style, but still an immensely drinkable beer.

16 ounce can from Kahns drunk in hotel room. Orange body. Pine and some resin. Malty all around. Not super West Coast, but decent.

Deep golden color out of the can with a short white head. Red grapefruit nose. Big grainy backbone with lots of grapefruit, bitter orange and apricot hops. Long red grapefruit zest finish. Nice local canned IPA.

Orange in color, 2 finger white head. Aroma is a bit yeasty and dank, but overall muted. Flavor is sweet with just a hint of hops. Far from a West Coast IPA>

Pours a rich clear gold with a fluffy off white head that settles quickly to a thin ring and doesnít lace at all. Nose involves some caramel and honey malt notes, a whiff of pine and grapefruit, some orange, subdued. Pretty sweet, fairly bitter. Medium bodied, somewhat oily, a bit flaccid, fair carb, with a lingering herbal bitter finish. Ultimately, not that eventful for me. I donít find it especially crisp and bright. I also donít think the hop aromas pop much. I like the aroma Iím getting, but I have to search for it. I would like to try this again, but for this experience, Iím not impressed.

Location: 16 oz can from Andy via trade, thanks bud!, 2/8/14

Aroma: The nose is pine hops, some resiny notes, grapefruit, and some caramel
Appearance: Pours a clear orange color with a small white head and drippy, streaky lace
Flavor: It has a clean hoppy flavor, clean medium bitterness, and a nice malt presence for balance
Palate: This one has a smooth, clean mouthfeel, soft carbonation, and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a nice, clean, very drinkable IPA. It isnít quite the west coast style IPA that the can claims, but it is a nice beer with a really solid mouthfeel.

Not a bad IPA, especially if you like a (very) strong malt backbone. The beer has a nice appearance and aroma, and does pack a ton of flavor, but the malts kind of overtook the bitter hop character I always crave with this style. Mouthfeel is quite thick and slightly syrupy. I know itís becoming more popular in the Indy area and has itís share of fans, so definitely worth a try if you find it on tap. Would have again, but only against weak tap competition.

Sweet trade bonus courtesy of shrubber85. The 16oz can pours with a clear copper body that has gold edges and supports a wispy near tight quarter inch tall dirty white head. The aroma offers up resiny pine mixed a bit oddly with some mango tropical fruitiness. Thereís also a touch of dank hoppiness around the edges noticed after a couple of pulls are taken. The taste begins with both mango like tropical fruitiness and a firm level of fresh resiny pine hops. The hops present loads of hop flavor and even more resiny hoppiness from front to back. This is nice but the mix of flavors seems to pull itself apart to a certain degree.

Awesome "west-coast style" IPA! This is one of my top 3 IPAs in Indiana, and fast becoming one if my favorite IPAs period. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
