Bottle poured into imperial half pint glass. Pretty beer. Smell of cinnamon, malt. Thin taste of leafy vegetables and a muddle of holiday spices. Id blame it on the beer I had right before, except that the beers I had after tasted just fine.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2015 Pours an opaque deep brown with little off white head and its gone in a hurry.....aroma of nutmeg, clove, sweetness......taste is peppery nutmeg, soured off into glop, then left with overdose of nutmeg on the tongue. Had high hopes at the start but they were dashed in a hurry.

Aroma: Definitely a good deal of nutmeg and clove; something that almost reminds me of soy sauce, but not in a totally unpleasant way. Still, kinda weird. Appearance: Smoky quartz body with a slightly foamy tan head that settles into a bubbly ring. Flavor: Pretty prominent soy sauce component with nutmeg coming out a little more than any other spice. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, long finish. Overall: Not totally dreadful, but not something Id seek out again, either.

Sample. Dark brown color with thin head. Molasses and coffee aroma. More coffee taste, more like a stout, but enjoyable

Roasted malts, gingerbread, nutmeg, in the aroma. Roasted burnt caramel, allspice, toasted walnuts, and toffee flavors. A nice holiday warmer.

355ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish, spicy, perfumed and minimally soapy aroma on roasty, dark malty basis, hints of gingerbread, X-mas spices. Taste is dark malty, minimally roasty, richly spicy, gingerbread, nutmeg, clove, X-mas spices in gerneral; sweetness is superbly kept in check; oily texture, soft, minimally sticky palate. Well balanced considering the numerous ingredients.

At mad mex. Big & black with very little head. Barely any aroma, quite sterile in a metallic way on the nose. First taste is an odd spicy over the top flavor experience. Taste is difficult and unrealistic. Overly spiced. Does not hide alky well. Almost in yer face with the taste and the holiday thing. Not impressed, rude and do not like the overall effects of this brew. Never could get used to these stupid holiday beers. I tasted it because it was there.

Dark beautiful beer that shows its potential of flavor with nice head, smells of nutmeg and strong caramel, rich full body flavor Christmas is better with a warmer gut!
