Spicy, but not overwhelmingly so, like many of the style. Some licorice, similar to the Abbaye des Rocs version of the style. Carbonation is a little low, which suits the beer as well. Really well done.

12oz bottle. Pours brown with a small tan head. Aroma is of dark fruit, spice, wood, and malt. Lot of nutmeg and prune. Taste is very spicy with lots of nutmeg and cinnamon. Also wood, and a lot of dark fruit. Canít taste the alcohol, but it has a nice warming effect. Mouthfeel is light and sticky. Body is light, and the finish is all spicy fruit. I liked it a lot.

355ml bottle. Dark reddish brown. Large fluffy head. Aroma has spices but also wood and fruit. Some strange leathery notes too. Taste again is malty, wood, leather. Spices arenít overt. Quite dry. Not sure of the age on this but it tastes a bit old rather than fresh, which is a shame.

A huge blast of spices herald forth from the foamy pour from a bottle. Nutmeg and cinnamon are especially prevalent. The taste is a jumble of sweetness thatís hard to untangle and, I generally donít like to say this with a high-alcohol-content beer but, this is far more intriguing cold than as it comes to room temperature.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Opaque dark brown color, tan head, streamers of lace. Taste is spice and malt that moves effortlessly through the palate to a lightly hopped finish. Pretty standard issue with the addition of spice.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with some reddish notes. Small tan head. The aroma is vanilla, toffee, cloves, cinnamon, and caramel. The flavor is sweet, with a nice savory spice. Very low bitterness. Medium body, creamy, a little grainy. Overall, this is a very spice-forward and flavorful beer.

Celebrating the first 60-degree day of the year with this one; an appropriate homage to the Winter behind us. Dark fruit taste lingers, while beer surprisingly holds up to thaw weather expectations. Careful with ABV because you cannot taste the impact.
