3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Reddish dark brown colored. Poured little to no head. Aroma was fruity, pumpkiny. Mouthfeel was medium with a strong pumpkin pie taste with a hint of chocolate malt. As hard as I tried to find some hops, they weren't there. No matter, this beer makes a great nightcap, especially on a 5 degree night, which is what was intended.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
355 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma is very spicy with nutmeg, some roastiness, biscuit and clove. Flavour of toasted malts, nutmeg, some metallic notes, biscuit, harsh grassy bitterness and grains. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. Harsh dry finish with unfortunately some more metallic off-flavours. Feels old. Drink this when it’s fresh.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour is a dark brown, almost black with an average tan head. Aroma is pretty much all holiday spice. Nutmeg, allspice and a little clove. Flavor is toffee and licorice with the nutmeg and other spices secondary. Finish is a bit of roasted malt maybe a wee bit of coffee and a little touch of the alcohol. I’m a sucker for a nice spiced winter warmer and this does not disappoint. Found in a bargain bin but it’s still holding up.

355ml bottle from Saveur Biere
Dark look with a small foam. Aroma is christmas like, notes of cardamom and cinnamon. Lot of different spices in flavour. Not really my thing or just totally wrong time for this beer.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a very dark, opaque brown with some reddish notes. Small, brown head. The aroma is vanilla, toffee, cloves, cinnamon, and caramel. The flavor is very sweet, with a nice savory spice. Very low bitterness. Medium body, creamy, a little grainy, and slightly astringent. Overall, this is a very spice-forward and flavorful beer. The flavor is fair, but doesn’t live up to the promise of the initial aroma.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared with my bro and dad. Aroma of molasses, caramel, and dark fruits. Pours dark brown with a small white head. Taste is sweet caramel, molasses, toffee, and a delicious malt finish. The spices don’t really shine but they certainly accent an amazingly sweet blend of malt flavors. Well done.

Bottle from Sam’s Quik shop. Pours dark, dark, brown with a whitish head. Leaves a fair amount of lacing. Get some of the spices on the nose. Tastes mostly of cinnamon and nutmeg on the tongue. Has a bit of an alcohol burn on the finish. Not my fave of the style.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen, listed at 6.5%
The color is black, with creamy brownish head. Strong spicy aroma, at Least this is nutmeg and cinnamon (and not cassia). Good flavor of dark chocolate, roasted malt, with moderate but pleasant residual sweetness, and strong spicy character (nutmeg and liquorice). Although I don’t favor spiced beers, this blend with the dark chocolate is well achieved.
Pumpkin pie with chocolate frosting.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz 2013 bottle served in a Belgian snifter.
Pours dark brown with a short-lived tan head. Looks like a porter.
Aroma: complex and lightly spiced compared to the flavor.
Flavor: spicy with an iverload of clove. Allspice and nutmeg in more moderate amounts. Dark malts are largely masked by the spices.
O: a spicy winter ale with well hidden ABV

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Drinking it kind of late in the year. Poured with huge chunks. Won’t be finishing it because of that. Christmas nutmeg spiced aroma. Not bad smelling. Taste fine to. Dark cocoa taste with lots of cinnamon nutmeg flavors. The chunks is the only of putting thing

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 2 March 2014) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted, spicy nose with chocolate, spruce needles, juniper twigs, cinnamon, cocoa and nutmeg. Malty, roasted, spicy taste with notes of chocolate, caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, black rye bread and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and quite spicy. Nice one.
