3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rosenbergh (3486) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 24, 2012
Draught at the Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen, Denmark.
Cloudy amber colour with tiny off-white head.
Mild floral and fruity aroma with backing maltiness. Flavour is much stronger with caramel malt, butterscotch, some mild hops and lots of biscuits. Rather easy but quite tasty.

Thanks turd. Pours a soft slightly hazy orange amber with one finger of sandy tan head. Nose is lightly cidery with notes of diacetyl and a bready quality. Flavor is similar, carbonation isn’t quite right. Lightly bready and slick.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 TURDFERGUSON (2758) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - MAR 22, 2012
Bottle from the local. Cool label like all the DH bottles. Orange amber with a small off-white head. Nose is sweet and slightly fruity, light grain. Flavor is more grainy, lots of malt, some banana and other fruity notes. Almost tastes like they’re using a Belgian yeast in this beer which would be strange. But you definitely get that fruity belgian estery flavor at the end which dont make no sense fo this beer, ya hear? Drinkable, but weird.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 574deadzone (262) - North Central, Indiana, USA - MAR 22, 2012
Pours a deep amber-red, cloudy with a swirl or clear without, with a smaller beige head that doesn’t lace much but settles to a thicker ring. Nose is caramel, a tangerine-like citrus hop aroma, and some light Belgian-esque yeasty dough. Taste is some Belgian yeasty spice, a low to moderate sweetness, a slight tartness, without much bitterness. Palate is a cleansing tart, medium bodied with low carbonation. Dark Horse describes the yeast strain for this as "almost Belgian" and I say that’s accurate, as the yeast spice isn’t too powerful, but adds some depth and character to the beer. Solid, refreshing, great for warmer weather. Pretty good stuff.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 superspak (775) - Michigan, USA - MAR 20, 2012
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle date. Pours slightly hazy reddish roange color with a small 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with decent retention that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Slight lacing on the glass as you drink. Aromas of big orange, banana, biscuit, clove, pear, toasted malt, caramel, apple, and yeast spiciness. Nice and well balanced aromas here; was not expecting this to be a Belgian style amber at all. Taste of banana, orange, caramel, biscuit, clove, pear, pepper, toasted malt, and herbal yeast spices. Light spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, apple, banana, toasted malt, and yeast spices on the finish for a bit. Medium carbonation and body; with a slightly silky mouthfeel. Very easy and smooth to drink. Alcohol is well hidden with hardly any warming after the finish. Overall this is a very nice and enjoyable Belgian amber ale, with good complexity. Plenty of flavor and very smooth drinking. I would get this again.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 KickInChalice (772) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 13, 2012
From notes. First reviewed 11/24/2011. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass.
Very hazy, Dark Horse Amber Ale pours an amber color with tints of copper, tangerine, and peach at the edges. I had to be careful with the pour, a large ecru head rose quickly from the glass, ultimately forming a frothy cap. It fades slowly but leaves layers of lace down the glass.
There is not much bite in the aroma. Toasted grains and a bit of caramel malt come through with a lazy spicy or earthy note.
The flavor is soft and fairly uninteresting. There is a toasted grain presence, some woody notes, a bit of earthy spice, and some medicinal phenols on the back end.
The body has is quite light. The carbonation is crisp and bubbles on the tongue, but there is only a watery sensation left after. There is a gentle creaminess as well.
I am learning that Dark Horse is kind of hit or miss. I have had some very nice beers from them, but others do not seem to be executed very well.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 sebletitje (4394) - Enghien, BELGIUM - MAR 8, 2012
Draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels.

Bread, malts, sweetness and a mild hint of earth and fruit. The flavor is mildly sweet malts, fruit, grains and yeast. Although the sweetness was stronger than is normally preferable, it didn’t detract from the flavor.
