3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: AUG 7, 2006 Opaque-hazed copper with a creamy, whitish head that fades rather quickly. Dryish nose with faint metallics and a fruity base with some green banana and orange zest. Malts and yeasts in flavor with an underlying sweetness. Orange comes out late with notes of black tea. Almost mid-bodied with a dry finish. Finding this listed as a Belgian Ale makes a little more sense than an Amber Ale, regardless of the fact that it lacks the complexity and big yeast profile to make it a standout.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle from the brewery in Marshall-pours copper hue with a small soapy topping accented around the rim of the glass. nose is fruity with notes of sugary malts and belgian candy sugar. like a light dubbel. flavors are sweet, malty with a ton of sugars. body is somewhat light, but makes this an easy drinking belgian ale. finish is sweet with notes of berries. not a bad session beer from this fine brewery.

Color was a hazy gold. Aroma was candy sugar, sour yeast, and peppery hops.. an bit of fresh citrus. Flavor was of slightly tart fruit, a sufficient hop bitterness, sweet malt, and pepper. Very dry mouthfeel.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a clear copper with a ring of white head. This has a pretty awful aroma. Sour smell and a little candy sugar. Luckily flavor isnít as off-putting. It is very watery everywhere. Some woody weird belgian yeast and gay. sucks

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
the bottle says nothing about belgian, but the aroma says otherwise, so props to the original rater(s). pretty good aroma, not at all like an amber. i actually think i detect some mint in it. lots of candy in it. taste is kinda flat, quite watered down. some ugly sourness, a bit much alcohol. who in the world would call this an amber?! i donít like this a whole ton. yuck, just found some change.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Brew HaHa - Ahh - didnít realize this was a Belgian influenced Amber when I sampled it last night. That explains the great fruitiness that works nicely with the caramel body. An interesting combo that works well in this situation.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at darkhorse: Very complex nose with load of different fruit combinations, most prominent are clove and vanilla. Very lovely brew from start to finish, not exactlly belgin in mouthfeel but none the less another fine brew from darkhose.
