COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
100% malted barley gives this classic ale a mild biscuit, toasted malt taste. This is a medium bodied beer with perfect balance of malt flavors. The color is a brilliant amber, while the aroma is slightly fruity and malty.

I am not sure what makes this a Belgian Amber. I am not sensing any of the traditional spiciness in the nose, well maybe a little upon second sniff. But the beer itself doesn’t taste up to Dark Horse snuff. In fact, it tastes a lot like a lot of the extract brews I started off doing with my homebrew kit. A little bit of twang. This stuff is decent but that is about it.

Bottle. Pours a nice deep Amber and with a thick creamy head. Rich barley taste with a back flavor of hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Drank from bottle. Malty flavor mixed with metallic zing. Not pleasant mouthfeel. Would not drink it again

Bottle: Cloudy amber body with a thin webbed off-white layer of foam on top. Aroma of toasted cereal grains, metal, stale caramel, very light florals, & a touch of orange zest. Flavor has a strong stale caramel malt sweetness with notes of overly toasted bread, earth, milled grains, & a strange bitterness that lies somewhere between floral & metallic. Light hopping. Not a very good beer.

Medium brown with small head. Fruity aroma almost like a Belgian. A little like medicine.

Bottle. Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Moderate toasted and breadiness in the aroma and taste. A run-of-the-mill, but still good, amber.

12oz bottle I picked up at Total Wine McLean pours a murky, copper amber with a ring of white head that faded fast. Nose has a lot of malt, sticky caramel, some toast, a little biscuit, a little bit of raisin, some mild orange too. Flavor is a bit surprising because it hits with a fair amount of candy sugar and Belgian-esque yeast character, some bubblegum, a little anise, caramel, ripe banana, some root veg. Spritzy finish. Old bottle? Bad bottle? Just didn’t seem right.

pours hazy if not cloudy medium dark golden orange with a small light beige orange, little retention and lacing. spicy and fruity belgian yeast (!), almost off-rotten-fruits, peppery sweetish caramel and candied nuts, toasted specialy malts, some sweetness - brown sugar, metal, slightly ashy too. low carbonation, light body - oily, semi-sweet and spicy-metallic finish. average american belgian amber at best.
