100% malted barley gives this classic ale a mild biscuit, toasted malt taste. This is a medium bodied beer with perfect balance of malt flavors. The color is a brilliant amber, while the aroma is slightly fruity and malty.

I am not sure what makes this a Belgian Amber. I am not sensing any of the traditional spiciness in the nose, well maybe a little upon second sniff. But the beer itself doesn’t taste up to Dark Horse snuff. In fact, it tastes a lot like a lot of the extract brews I started off doing with my homebrew kit. A little bit of twang. This stuff is decent but that is about it.

Reddish copper pour with aroma of bread, toasted malt, and some citrus. Bread and toasted malt flavor with some citrus sweetness. Decent.

12 oz bottle from the sampler case. Just an average amber ale with nothing special or outstanding to speak of in taste or appreciation.

BOD 10/30/15. Pours a cloudy amber. Normal head volume, below average retention and no lacing. Good nose of light toasted bready malt with hints of slightly sweet fruit (banana, pear). Medium body that has a touch of creaminess to its otherwise smooth texture. Normal carbonation with a touch of effervescence in the middle and a stronger finish. The flavor profile is tasty and very good, though atypical for even a Belgian amber. Intensity is reasonable, balance is outstanding and complexity quite good. Flavor arrives in a blend then separates in the middle. Initially there is a wave of fruit, a touch of spice and a toasted/nutty aspect. The middle has just enough bitterness to notice and has a subtle sweetness. As this bitterness trails off, separation occurs and banana, pear and a touch of clove emerge over a bready slightly nutty base. The finish is a slow fade of the previous flavors that becomes slightly phenolic.

Beer pour ambrose with a white head. Has a little fruity smell with a under tone of floral. It has a really sweet malt taste with what weird chemical after taste.

Pours a clear amber with a healthy off white head which lingers......aroma of slight gauze bandage, sweet malt.......taste is not pleasant for me......there was no notation on the variety case this was a belgian yeasted ale and I’m not a fan. Taste is anti septic and I can’t get passed it. Barely drinkable for me.

355 mL bottle. Amber. Not much head. Malty, fruity nose - nothing special. The flavour is decent, though. The Belgian yeast adds a fruitiness that distinguishes this beer in a good way. The malt is toasty. Carbonation is a bit below normal, but it works. Not bad.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours Amber with off white head. Taste sweet, roasted malt, bread/biscuits. I thought this was good. I could drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
