DSG (5657) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - DEC 31, 2013
Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Cloudy orange. Aroma of stale hops, a bit fruity, a bit caramelly. Flavor has some sweetish malt, a bit caramelly, a bit honey-ish, with stale hops, mild fruitiness and some bitterness. Medium-bodied. past its prime.

Ruddy amber with floaters and a slowly dissipating taupe scalp and some flare lacing. Aroma of citrus, caramel, floral hops along with sweet bready malt. Taste is pretty sold with a few aberrations. Citrus, caramel, dough and floral notes with a weird herbal presence and a moderate bitter finale.

tectactoe (1520) - Michigan, USA - NOV 20, 2013
Bottle: murky, mostly opaque, cloudy amber color with a soapy, thin, big-bubbled, gray-tinted head that leaves no lacing behind. Aroma is brash leafy & grassy notes, earth, dirt, mild grapefruit peel, light tangerine, pineapple, notable caramel malt sweetness underneath. Not as citric as I was expecting... actually quite leafy & earthy. Taste is bitter citrus pith, juicy grapefruit, orange peel, white pepper & ashy spices, pine needles, hop oil, resin, & a slightly toasted maltiness. Finish is bitter citrus peel & pine. Probably my favorite of the three Crooked Tree variants, & while it’s good, I’d still take a regular CT over it.

Tap at Stagshead. Pours light orange with white head. Great citrus nose. Tastes of lovely orange peel citrus, mangos, pine, earthy, with a white pepper burn. Malty finish. Nice crisp carbonation. Really tasty ipa

FROTHINGSLOSH (4843) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 23, 2013
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky orange-toffee color with a small creamy orange-white head that faded quickly but left good lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy citrus, catbox, pine and spruce. The flavor was tart, tangy and bitter with pine, citrus, resin and sour caramel. Long tangy and bitter hoppy finish. Moderately full bodied. Ok.

Alextricity (509) - Michigan, USA - OCT 5, 2013
Had on-tap at One-Eyed Betty’s in Ferndale, Michigan as part of a paddle. Appearance: Golden yellow... typical of an IPA. Awesome lacing from just about top to bottom. There may’ve been a slight haze, but it was dark in the place, so I didn’t really notice. Smell: Citra. There’s that slightly earthy, mega-citrus sort of aroma from the citra. It doesn’t smell quite as good as Zombie Dust or even Odd-Side’s Citra Pale Ale, but it still has a super pleasant burst of those fresh citrus aromas. Taste: Basically like the smell, but actually a little restrained, I think. There’s quite a lot of citra, but it doesn’t really "burst" like I felt Citra Pale Ale or Zombie Dust does. Strangest of all, I find it odd that this is considered an IPA, but I thought it was less bitter than the other two I mentioned, which are described as being pale ales. Citra is clearly the show-case, there’s no doubt about that. This is still an excellent beer, but it’s not quite as awesome as I felt CPA or Zombie Dust are... Artic (I don’t know how to pronounce the rest...) just doesn’t seem to have as much depth. Regardless, this is a beer I’d have again if I could.

Bottle. Amber colour with a white head, medium duration and lacing. Aroma is strong hoppy, fresh, fruity, resins and pine are highly present. Flavor is strong bittery, malty, resins hops are highly present, notes of orange peel, grapefruit and citrus as well. The final has a decent bitterness with good duration.

5000 (6211) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - SEP 17, 2013
Bottle:   Orangish straw, faint haze, small sudsy white head, little lacing.   Musty nose, slightly dank, faint citrus aspects.   As it warms it gets a little sweaty.   Soft sweet citrus aspects up front, pale mustiness, a touch sweaty.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Dank sweaty finish.   While a touch sweeter than the FF variety, the sweat aspect detracts a bit.   Not bright at all, but thankfully not overly bitter either.   Thanks Kevin!

DoublEE (784) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - SEP 12, 2013
Taste is of bitter grapefruit, juicy blood orange, and bready malt. Doesn’t deviate too far from what our standard tastes like, but I definitely think the addition of citra hops makes the beer tasty more earthy. Bit of fruity sweetness to the finish.

Draft. From notes. Grassy with citrus and pine resin. Good caramel malt backbone. Very enjoyable.
