Bottle from mike. Very dark. Minimal head. Very strong dark fruit flavor. Has a red wine dryness. Medium thickness, not sure I believe the 13%

Bottle purchased from DH General Store the week after last years 4Elf party. Pours black. Large tan head that reminded me of malted milk balls. Aroma is of chocolate. Flavor is chocolate and dark fruits. Big thick palate. Its obviously a big beer, but all things considered it hides the alcohol content pretty well. This was very good. Not quite to the highest realms of DH beers, but close. Wish I had another bottle to see what happens to this over the next couple years.

draft at Blue Monk. Solid stout. hides 13% very well. big roasted maltiness, dark chocolate & coffee notes. i dont get the poor rating

Shared bottle with drowland and other friends, pours pitch black with a very light brown head around the edge of the glass, almost identical to the picture, aroma is of heavy chocolate and booze, does not hide the abv one bit, flavor has a bitter chocolate front end with a roasty and boozy finish, you can tell this is 13%, I would have almost thought more.

Bottle thanks to Mikem409. Pours a deep dark black with no head into my snifter. nose is mostly booze with some coffee. Taste is a weird nuttiness, like almonds with a buttery and slick finish. Lots of alcohol warming. hmmm. not quite sure about this one. Not much stout, just a lot of boost.

375ml bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, roasted malts, some chocolate and light coffee notes, light dough, hints of bitterness and ethanol. Flavor the same. Average texture. A pretty good beer but too many dark fruits.

On tap at Dark Horse. Poured black with thin beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, choc, coffee. Min to no carb which I like. Thick bod. Taste of dark fruits malts sweet light bitter. Pretty good.

Bottle. The pour is dark. The aroma is very nice. A nice sweet maltiness to it. The taste is a little off. A little under carbonated. It has a off sour taste to it, with some pepper taste, but no heat. Not a fan.

12oz bottle with dark red wax. Thanks to caterwaul for picking this up for me at the last 4Elf release. Shared with DanielCoor. Very dark brown color, not completely opaque. Nice light brown color. Good little ropes of lace. Dots of lace. Dark fruit, smoke up front. Less of that dark chocolate and smoke that you expect from an imperial stout. On untappd this is listed as an American Strong Ale, and Iím thinking that that may be appropriate for this. Itís like a dark American strong ale... Dark fruit notes, light maple syrup, some dark chocolate. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Big alcohol is well hidden, just a nice light warmth. Bigger body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Kind of a chewier texture, lightly slick. Pretty solid stuff. Impressive in how well it hides the alcohol. Nice kind of creamy, chewier texture to it. Kind of like what some people are calling an "imperial porter" these days. Hard to believe that this is 13%, still kind of the most mind blowing part of all of this.
