Sampled from the tap at the 15th annual MBGSF. Pours a near clear deep amber orange with a light brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a note of blueberries with grassy hops and a grain backing. Flavor has more citrus with a bit of grapefruit bitterness with underlying grass and grain as well as just a hint of blueberry.

Draft. Poured a clear copper color with an average creamy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus, resin and berry aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet berry flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

MiBG Summer Fest 2011. similar to a crooked tree with added blueberry. that being said, the blueberry was quite subtle. piney and grassy hoppiness with just a hint of blueberry syrup. more of an ipa than a fruit, which is nice

July 2005 - on tap during a great night of friendship. The tartness of the blueberry was apparent, especially compared to the Figpa next to it - flavors here were able to shine alongside the IPA’s dusty, orangey hoppiness. Nicely bodied and very easy drinking, quite citric but not watery (thankfully). Smells like pine and peach.

Sampled on draught @ Dark Horse Brewing Company in Marshall, Michigan. An India Pale Ale brewed with blueberries. Dark Horse’s blueberry obsession is strange, as is their obsession with opaque beer, but now I am rambling. Light orange color, with a creamier head compared to the other fruit IPA I tasted. Welcoming blueberry and hop aroma that to me, is an improvement of the regular Crooked Tree. Blueberry seems to stand out in the nose, blending well with the citrusy hops. Flavor is very fruity, as the hops in Crooked Tree are extremely fruity as is, the blueberry just accentuates it, making it pretty lovely. Notes of peach, apricot, grapefruit and most of all, blueberries.
