Bottle 35,5 cl. Clear dark reddish brown with a beige head. Roasted caramel and molasses in the nose with a little overripe dark fruits. Sweet malty taste, bready, roasted with notes of caramel, licorice, some floral hops. Medium body, medium bitter finish. As always with Dark Horse very good craftmanship, but a little more temper and spices would work wonders here.

(draught) pours a hazy ruby-brown colour with a creamy off-white head. aroma of toasted malts and dark chocolate, caramelized grain, cocoa powder and a hint of espresso. flavour is mostly the same, though heavy on toasted malts and caramel, with a light sweetness, some alcohol and a light roasted-bitter finish. medium to heavy-bodied with average carbonation.

Another cool brew from Dark Horse. Aroma is light leather, caramel, nuts, and coffee. Flavor is similar. A great brew to kick back and share with some friends. Cheers!!

Thanks for the share, OmegaX. This brewery puts out some diverse brown ales. The aroma was dry and nutty with some earthiness and light roasted malts. It tasted smooth and creamy with soft notes of coffee, oatmeal and some fruity esters as well. Nicely done brown ale.

Bottle from Downer WIne & Spirits. Pours a darkish brown with an offwhite head. Aroma has caramel and some nuts, with a bit of brown sugar. Taste is of sweet caramel, faint roast and some cocoa, with nuts. Medium to possibly light in body. Finishes more sweetly than anything else. Expected bitterness or brown sugar-ness did not come through, so made a somewhat blah style more blah.

Bottle. Pours dark amber-brown with a small head that quickly fades. Aroma is nutty with light roast, caramel and a touch of coffee. Taste is decent. Light sweetness, very nutty. Lots of fruitiness comes out in the taste that wasn’t there in the aroma. Overall, browns might be my least favorite style. This is a slightly above average example.

Man these guys their labels are a true eyesore... luckily sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft so that I wouldn’t have to look at the label. Pours a blackish dark brown with a light beige head. Nose is inviting, sweet light molasses, some liquorice, darker malts, very light dark fruits and touch dark fruits,… Taste is a bit empty compared, sweet milk choc but a bit hollow, malty, light dark fruits, liquorice but less than in the nose, some grassy hops in the back and an odd hoppy / metallic note…. Small touch lighter carb, & body. Okay but nose was a bit more inviting but it is hard to tell what to want from a brown ale which tend to be a bit just there at best sometimes….

Draft @ Hoppy Loft.

A: nice caramel smell with a mix of bread and roasty goodness. A: pours a dark maroon with a one finger head that disappears quickly. T: caramel and a small hint of chocolate mix well together, not over the top malty either. Nice balance. P: average carbonation with a long finish, a light bittering stays on the tongue. O: very great brown, true to the style. Will pick up again.

dark brown pour. nice aroma of roasted malts. Palate was thinner than expected. taste was of roasted malts and maybe coffee with light bitter finish. this didn’t work as well as it could/should.

12oz bottle - Of course Dark Horse comes through big time on this delicious, full-bodied ale. Lots of flavor packed in there: chocolate, coffee, roast, and caramel. Fantastic offering.
