4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Opaque dark brown, almost black, and almost no lacing at all. Moderately boozy aroma filled with bourbon, chocolate, raisins, caramel, plums, cherries, and hints of charred oak. Sharp bittersweet taste that is accentuated by the lively carbonation and barrel treatment. Strong, viscous, but a tad rough. Full-bodied and boozy with a long finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle generously cracked by Sparky! Dark chestnut with scarlet, garnet, and crimson at its edges. Small eggshell crown perched on top. Super sweet bourbon, vanilla, oak, caramel, toffee, and brown sugar in the nose. Flavor is filled with molasses, vanilla, chocolate, and candied dark fruit. Rich and luxurious. The alcohol is present but surprisingly not overpowering. Definitely a sipper and would compliment a decadent dessert but not cloyingly sweet. Good brew!

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a rich copper color with just a trace of bubbles around the edges. The nose is rich sweet toffee, date, big boozy caramel bourbon overtones. The palate follows with rich sweet complexities, caramel popcorn, brown sugar, fig, toasted coconut, a bit of dark fruit. Pretty tasty considering the high abv

Bottle pour. Dark brown pour with no head. The aroma is caramels, dark fruits, raisins, and figs. Taste is fairly sweet with the bourbon really kicking it up a notch. Sort of an earthy caramel presence. Very sweet beer overall. Lingers on the palate to quite awhile. Very good!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
2013 vintage; not sure if there are others?Aroma is fairly nice with some dark caramel and toffee along with lighter notes of chocolate and faint roast. Some dark fruit notes of raisins, prunes, plums and cherries. The fruit is moderate but secondary to the malt notes. Moderately strong bourbon and lighter oak and vanilla notes. Pours a dark brown, but with some ruby highlights as well. Absolutely no head at all though there was a faint hiss when I opened the bottle. It doesn?t form legs so much as sheets of alcohol. Flavor is somewhat similar to the regular Monster 29 and not as impressive as the aroma. Very sweet caramel and toffee notes with some moderate chocolate notes. Somewhat like a darker tootsie roll. Some dark fruit - plum and prune mostly with some cherries. Bourbon is lighter but present with faint oak and vanilla. Its not until the finish that the alcohol cuts through the sweetness. Find sh has alcohol but still quite a bit of lingering sweetness with some dark caramel notes. Flavor also has a hint of astringency and moderate bitterness.Mouthfeel is full bodied and viscous with almost zero carbonation; this beer would make Tomme Arthur jealous for its lack of carbonation and it some ways it reminds me of a much larger and sweeter Angel?s Share. Medium low astringency and medium high alcohol warmth. The alcohol cuts through the stickiness but there is tons of sugary slickness. Overall an acceptable beer, but I have a feeling they missed their attenuation levels (along with their carbonation levels); it is just so over the top sweet. Good dark fruit notes that are strong but work in the background. Surprisingly less bourbon than I expected. The malt profile could use a bit more complexity. I?m not a huge fan of this beer if it wasn?t apparent at this point in time.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle:   Thick viscous pour, deep caramel, sudsy tannish head, little lacing.   Certainly looks very barrel aged.   Big caramel nose, sweet, did I mention caramel?   Huge maltiness.   Also notes of subtle
bourbon, graham cracker, and vanilla.   Whoa, very alcholic on the tongue.   Sticky sweet, caramel, graham cracker, bourbon and vanilla.   Very warming, but not caustic for being 17.5%.   Very low carbonation, viscous on
the tongue.   This is almost like a cognac.   Has some aspect of dark pitted fruit on the finish.   Otherwise huge caramel, toffee, graham cracker, bourbon, and soft vanilla.   Fairly still, but also fairly tasty!
