This beer is a big and full bodied Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels with lots of roasted malts, but very balanced with heavy hops. Brewed with a top secret root, this beer has an amazingly complex flavor that you must wait for.

Pours a pitch black with minimal head. Aromas of roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, fruity esters, oak tanins. Taste is full of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, vanilla, caramel, oak, licorice, maybe some dark fruits. alcohol is definitly noticable. Carbonation is low with an oily texture. Would like to see how a year would do on this one. Happy to have more.

Midnight black. ‹ber oily Licorice and tobacco big dark chocolate and maple Incredibly complex. Decadent. Not as boozy as bcbs but everything else is so close. Not as boozy is actually nicer. Itís this excellent balance of charred oak, vanilla and bourbon with a chocolate espresso roasted almond stout incredible

Bottle. Pours a thick black color with a small head on it. Nose has a fair amount of bourbon in there with some roasting underneath. Feels thick and smooth in your mouth. Taste has some great roasting elements with some subtle bourbon and alcohol notes underneath. Gets even better as it warms. Wow.

Pours a thick black from the bottle with thin film of a head and nice film on the glass too. Aroma of sweet chocolate and vanilla, a deep bourbon richness, and slight roasted malts. Taste follows, with hints of dark fruits and licorice. Very complex and wonderfully balanced. Damn good, thanks to the RBWG for the taste.

Huge thanks to Tom for sharing this. Inviting aroma of dark chocolate, licorice and a nice oak presence. Iím also getting dark fruits such as plums and dates. The fruitiness also stands out in the taste almost givingin a quad feeling. Palate is low carbed as you can expect from such a big stout but mouthfeel is sily and oily. It feels to me like a successfully new take on this very popular style.

2012 bottle, poured into a snifter. Pours jet black with a deep tan ring of foam. Aroma is HUGE. Smells of espresso, dark chocolate, vanilla, oak, bourbon, dark fruit. Taste is sweet and has medium bitterness. Mouthfeel is so rich and creamy. Smooooth. Fantastic beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
