Oh yeah. Thanks MotherBrother! Bottle from 2012. Pours pitch black with a very dark brown head. Not that thick though. Smell is gun powder, licorice, chocolate, motor oil, asfalt. The taste got many o the same nuances, but some more chocolate, wood and bourbon. A little vanilla too... A slight watery body, and it’s not as intense as the smell told me it would be. Still great and complex.

Chilled brown bottle poured into a snifter. Pours black with light brown head. Thick body and light espresso aroma. Taste is strong coffee. Compared with three other imperial stouts, third best.

I think I enjoy the regular version of this beer better. The aging is subtle and I would never guess it was bourbon barrels. More oak and wood. Very nice palate. Underwhelmed.

(Critique chaotique du extreme beer fest 2013): Cuir, vanille, bourbon dans ce qui pourrait passer pour une bourbon county, un peu plus crémeuse, peut-être moins chocolatée.

12 oz bottle from a trade with a Michigander. Poured into Teku stemware. Enjoyed in the presence of James Bond.
I poured this hallowed stout just past the curve in my glass. A small khaki head rose just under half an inch above the surface of the liquid, which is extremely dark, opaque, and ominous in appearance. The warm aroma of cacao nibs, bitter dark chocolate, freshly made bold coffee, and a whiff of Kentucky magic. There’s even a prominence of caramel in the nose as the brew warms.
Taste is, not surprisingly, fantastic. Rich milk and bitter dark chocolates move in tandem with the bitter hop backing. Bourbon is so well integrated you often forget this beer was aged in bourbon barrels. Bold espresso briefly appears without adding considerably to bitterness level and disappears into the signature vanilla/oak barrel character. There is simultaneous abrasiveness and refinement that put this’d in a league of its own. For being only a few months old, this magnificent ale shows grand maturity and undebatable quality.
Mouthfeel is perfect for my taste. Body is full and amply carries the beer’s immense character. Carbonation is present throughout the liquid. My tongue is left coated with a chocolate oil slick feeling.
This is one of the best stouts in existence. I want more but don’t have the ammo to acquire it. Glad to enjoy a bottle for now.

Black, tan had with some red hues. Really nice looking. Nose is huge chocolate, bourbon, barrel, dark fruits. Taste is tons of bittersweet chocolate, some vanilla, dark fruits, a little bit of bourbon. Light booze and a touch of eggcream to the finish. Smooth, sticky mouthfeel.

Pours a pitch black with minimal head. Aromas of roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, fruity esters, oak tanins. Taste is full of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, vanilla, caramel, oak, licorice, maybe some dark fruits. alcohol is definitly noticable. Carbonation is low with an oily texture. Would like to see how a year would do on this one. Happy to have more.

Midnight black. Über oily
Licorice and tobacco big dark chocolate and maple
Incredibly complex. Decadent. Not as boozy as bcbs but everything else is so close. Not as boozy is actually nicer. It’s this excellent balance of charred oak, vanilla and bourbon with a chocolate espresso roasted almond stout incredible
