5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Bottle. Pours a thick black color with a small head on it. Nose has a fair amount of bourbon in there with some roasting underneath. Feels thick and smooth in your mouth. Taste has some great roasting elements with some subtle bourbon and alcohol notes underneath. Gets even better as it warms. Wow.

Big thanks to Dougofthefuture for holding this great tasting!
Poured from a bomber into a snifter
A. Pours a dark charcoal color with a caramel head about 1mm thick. Settles as a nice foamy ring around the glass
S. Sweet chocolate dominating the smell, noticeable bourbon, caramel and light fruit
T. Sweet and sugary, but not overbearing at all. Very very malty, with dark chocolate and a slight toffee finish.
M. Medium body, coarse and dry finish
O. This is true a top shelf beer. Itís sweet but not over done, very malty but not dominating the whole beer, the chocolate is at a good level, and a nice light coffee finish. This is a beer I will be looking to get more and more of. I suggest everyone try this!

A very nice Imperial Stout. Comes out strong and swinging, but mellows with a few sips. An excellent Imperial Stout.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Aroma- incredibly huge bourbon, massive dark fruits which consist mostly of plums and blueberries, some roasted notes, more barrel qualities
Appearance- outer space black with a nice tan head, massive alcohol presence
Taste- melded tastes of bourbon, oak, plums, figs, milk chocolate, more barrel hits, roasted barley, alcohol heat and more bourbon at the end, silky fucking smooth
Palate- full, creamy, out of this world
Overall- Maybe my favorite beer, Iím not sure yet but itís probably the one. Sensational everything in this beer. Will need to get again for sure.

Black, tan had with some red hues. Really nice looking. Nose is huge chocolate, bourbon, barrel, dark fruits. Taste is tons of bittersweet chocolate, some vanilla, dark fruits, a little bit of bourbon. Light booze and a touch of eggcream to the finish. Smooth, sticky mouthfeel.

4.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
A= Very dark color pour, not much on top, caramel color.
S= Not overpowering, had to get real close to get a good smell. Smell vanilla/bourbon. Also smell some of the coffee.
T = Exceptional. Layers, of chocolate coffee some caramel and vanilla. Alcohol is very present, but I wouldnt have it any other way. It is going to be hard to let this beer age, but I think it will be worthwhile.
M= Thicker than most beers with this much alcohol. Some stronger stouts seem to be to thin, but this one holds up. It lingers in my mouth leaving the great taste to stay around.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
A-- Poured black, settled black. Just hints of ruby in the pour and at the top of the beer. At best a dark reddish brown film. Good collar though. Very little if any head. A few carbonation bubbles but not a lot to this. A dark oily residue left with this and just a bit of spotty lacing. No ABV legs for this ABV of a beer.
S-- Wow, big aggressive nose. Big, dark chocolate. Not powder but chocolate. Roasted fig or date, roasted prune, almond or walnut (the wood from the barrel) smell underneath the fruit and chocolate. Rich and thick nose full of bourbon and barrel. Heck yeah.
T-- Thick liquid chocolate, followed by prune, walnut, carmel, and some small amounts of roasted almond. Bourbon is really present in this. Just a thick and rich taste. Flipping scary beer.
M-- Heavy feel but lighter in the mouth than one would suspect. Carbonation?? Try again on that. Little to no carbonation. Silky smooth feel though. Alcohol is very obvious on this going down. Very oily, rich feel in the mouth. Dark, bitter chocolate is also made known in the mouth. Literally gets richer and gets more depth as work through this. Bourbon that hides as a port. Long lasting flavor that kicks ass. Wicked stuff.
O-- Slow sipper is a good starting point. Big, bold balsy beer. Not for the faint one bit. Beats the heck out of most BA RIS. Worth finding. Worth savoring

2012 vintage. 12 oz silver waxed bottle into a brandy snifter. Canít thank Steimie enough, this was a huge want of mine!
A - Pours a thick black body with a finger of dark mocha head. After that fizzles away its quite difficult to recreate a head with a swirl. Just some splotchy lacing with some nice retention. Alcohol legs stain the sides of the glass.
S - Bourbon dipped fudge brownie is the description I would use here. Rich and gooey dark chocolate, dry cocoa powder, light espresso and coconut. Finishes with smooth oak and vanilla and warming alcohol which does comes off as a bit too distracting.
T - Starts with dark chocolate and light roasted malts. Then comes a huge wave of vanilla, oak, and butterscotch. Lighter notes of coffee beans, coconut, and dark fruits. The finish is fudge with a bit of leather. Rich and decadent, just fucking perfect!
M - Thick and coating, just a notch below syrupy. Carbonation is spot on.
O - Truly one of the best BA stouts out there. How anyone can trade this stuff after sampling it is beyond me. Compared to its major 12 oz competition, well I think I like BCBS a bit more since its a brash stout that is all about the bourbon. This beer is much more balanced with the bourbon complimenting the base beers notes. God dammit this is good stuff!

Tap takeover at chrunchy's in east lansing. Finally got a chance to try this and was beyond impressed. I was expecting the bourbon presence to be hot and it was anything but. Silky smooth texture with vanilla, chocolate, bourbon and wood flavors. This is now my favorite beer.
