Very good beer. Little aftertaste. Nice rich flavor. Great color and palate. Aroma...not great but smelled worse. Very nice imperial but there’s better for the price.

Big fan of this one. Not too boozy, slightly sweet. Not too sugary. Slightly roasted grain flavored with a sweet finish. Pours black with a tan head ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled via bottle at WTWBA 2014 in Minneapolis. Deep brown pour. A little sour and roasty. I thought the mouthfeel on this was a little flat.

Pours a used oil black with a dark, orange-brown head. Doused campfire nose with some sour aroma. Wet, smooth and thick. A bit of a plastic flavor. Some sour wood. Dark chocolate.

Pours black, like motor oil, with a thin tan head. Bourbon on the nose. Thick mouthfeel with a nice bourbon finish. Better than the New Holland Dragon’s Milk.

Duece roughly 1 year old. Black pour with thick foamy head. Big sourness, dark malt and dark fruit with a slight dry finish. Odd combo that doesn’t mesh the greatest but not bad.

Draft at 4 Elf 2013 - big sour aromas with some roast . Sourness wasn't overwhelming . Pretty good , would try again . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the 4 Elf party. A decent sour roasty smell. A lot thinner feel than I would have guessed. Sourness seems a bit off. Alcohol shows itself a little bit in the back end. It wasn’t very drinkable. Overall I’d say it was ok.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2014 Tap: Pretty dark brown, basically black, pouring with almost no head; barely even a thin, tan collar around the edges. Aroma is pretty roasty with a strong dark fruit presence. There’s a light, appreciable tartness but nothing that smells "sour" or vinegar-y like others describe. Plums, roast, light cocoa. Not much of a barrel presence, either. Taste has a touch of syrupy tartness, something like plums or dates (general dark fruitiness) but again, doesn’t reach "sour" levels before the roast, chocolate, & dark malts take over. Slightly tannic finish, lightly astringent - perhaps the only hint of a barrel in here. Some strange soy sauce notes in the finish. Light anise. plum, & roasted malt aftertaste coating. Not bad, but perhaps I’m being too hard on it, based on how much I love the non-sour version.

Bottle: Thanks, Travis. Holy shit. I’m almost convinced that what I had on tap was not the same beer. Because out of the bottle, this shit is pretty horrible. Overly sour, lacto & acetone notes, roast, soy sauce, tart plums, ash... Nasty, very hard to finish. I don’t normally adjust scores downwards, but this is too terrible not to account for, & I seriously think the tap version was something different. Or at least "not as soured" because this was borderline putrid.
