4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pleasant resiny herbal aroma, a bit like the Phishheads’ apartment next door in college. (Though, upon visiting the Dark Horse brewery, one might be able to same the "Smells Like Weed" ipa.) Dark autumnal orange brown hazy appearance, fine frothy head. Medium bitterness in the aftertaste, lightly sour throughout. Average to lively fizziness with a slight bitterness to the finish. Definitely a beer for hopheads. Maybe not as drinkable as Torpedo, but it is every bit as interesting for the ipa enthusiast, maybe more.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Plan B in Springfield, Ma. Translucent, rusty orange with very little head. Almost a not-quite-ready homebrew aroma. But the flavour is great, with mango and citrus being the predominant flavours. Body and carbonation are average.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Champane’s. Pours hazy deep amber with a thin white head. Bright citrus aroma with grassy hops. Taste is a balance of bready malts and citrus hops, with a moderately high bitter finish. Big body and medium carbonation. Great example of an American IPA.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a couldy amber with off white head, pretty good lacing. Pine and citris notes, not overly hoppy for an IPA, drinkable if not somewhat average.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I don’t love the base Crooked Tree, but the synthesis of the different hops make its sweetness a little less overbearing, sort of generic in the midwest citrusy IPA style.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle stamped 024-13 another old ipa from bottleselect.com. Pour has a caramel amber color and a ring of off white head on the glass. Aroma has light citrus, caramel malts, and wet grass. Mouthnfeel is medium and the carbonation is average. Flavor has some pine, citrus, and caramel malt. Going to rate this to the average to be fair here and re visit it when I can on a freshie.
