COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s not as heavy bodied and malty as many IPA’s, in contrast the palate is more crisp and dry. If you consider yourself a "hop-head" you owe it to yourself to grab this beer.

Pours a hazy amber/golden color with a cloud like head that is billowy and a nice white color. Plenty of lacing, and floaties. Smell is sharply hoppy, none of the citrusy notes that you can get in many other IPA’s. A resiny piney hoppy smell that is pretty damn sharp. Taste is surprisingly mild. From the smell I was ready for a West Coast ass kicking but it is surprisingly light and refreshing. Predictable hops citrus resiny flavor but it didn’t have the kick in the nuts that many do. This is a very excessible beer that is very very good.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2012 Bottle pours a hazy light amber color with a thick white head that lasts forever. Smells like I just tripped into a pile of pine needles. Medium mouthfeel leads to a hop blast. I feel like I’m chewing on hop resins as I drink this. Laces the entire glass. Hop-heads rejoice!

jstraw (1938) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 25, 2008
UPDATED: AUG 10, 2010 Cloudy, muddy, orange with good, foamy, off-white head / Nose of fresh pine, caramel, and pineapple / Medium body, a touch watery, with big malts but good balance and finish / Flavors of fresh pine, orange, pineapple, and caramel / Minor body flaw keeps it from being great.

Aroma is sweet caramel, orange, rind, alcohol as it warms. Opaque orange, with some lacing, this beer is pretty. Taste is sharp orange, some sourness also, strangely, but damn is this tasty. Also get a little bit of alcohol as it warms. Some graininess. Very good.

A Tasting at Three Cellars Milwaukee. A middle of the road IPA. A little sweet and not as rich as other IPAs I have had.

bunrt orange on color, hazy appearance. Sweet, thick mouth feel, with a nice hoppy burn at the front end. Slightly citrus in flavored, at touch of corriander spicyness. pairs well with nutty cheeses and curries.

2-20-08 bottle shared with lb4lb thanks to tytoanderso!
Thick orange brown pour with very thick, dense white IPA head. Soapy hops aroma that is a bit too light for me. Flavor is okay - it doesn’t just jump out. Citris lemon and lemon rind are present and a bit annoying after a while. Overall, average for me.

Cloudy dark bronze color full of hops. Wonderful hoppy flavor. Slight citrus kick. The double is much better though.
