3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle into a nonic pint glass.
A: Pours a murky copper color with TONS of yeast sediment in the glass. The head is a one finger offwhite shade. There’s a good creaminess to the texture, even if it fades moderately quickly. Still, it’s not exactly an attractive beer.
S: This has a pervasive biscuit quality to the aroma; it melds reasonably well with the textbook grapefruit peel and pine qualities from the hops. The maltiness is sweet and caramel-esque, like I expect. Typical, but I really like how strongly the aroma emanates from the glass.
T: The biscuit from the aroma subsides a bit, being supplanted by some initial grapefruit qualities. Still, this is one of the most biscuity IPAs I’ve ever had. Pine bitterness pops up in the midtaste before seemingly washing away on the finish. No one note here really stands out from the pack - however, it compensates by coming across as a great thirst quencher with a modicum of complexity.
M: While the body isn’t lightweight, it manages to drink crisply anyways. Astringency is balanced well, with only a moderate bitterness accumulating on the palate. Carbonation is high yet controlled in order to preserve the refreshment qualities this provides.
O: I reckon this one would really work during the summertime - in some ways, this drinks like a saison. There are better IPAs to be found, but there are also many worse ones as well.

"eh. a drinkable session ipa, but the somewhat vibrant aroma misled us into thinking the flavor would be more than it was. well balanced with slight citrus hops and a little bitterness. "

Pours a cloudy orange amber. Strongly carbonated with a lumpy cream head. Solid traditional hops aroma. Thick mouthfeel with an approachable traditional hops taste. Fades off into citrus hops aftertaste on a moderately sticky mouthfeel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy amber orange with a mild foam head that laces my glass. The aroma is malty with a noticeable sweetness. The hops are of resin, pine, and citrus scents with pleasant boozy notes. As for flavor I picked up on defined malt character with a soft sugary additive taste. The sweet malty blend combats the booze intensity with the help of a medium bitterness that lingers in the after taste. I also enjoyed the yeast selection, I feel it brought out a citrus character in tasting. Overall I ebjoyed this brew. I’ve been drinking this for a few years, it was about time the crooked tree got rated. Cheers.
