Nice IPA. Good hop malt balance, refreshing. Similar to the Double Crooked Tree with less complexity and depth; less alcohol and about half the price. Its hard to have a bigger, more developed older brother - the double crooked tree is extraordinary. This is a very pleasant IPA. Shared it with a friend who said he was not likely to order an IPA but would definitely drink this one again.

Tap @RCBF 2016. Clearish redish-amber color. Small size, white head, stays. Malty, fruity and caramel in aroma. Malty, caramel, sweet and fruity in taste. Fruity and sweet in aftertaste. Drinkable, but I’ve had similar stuff before.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Piney grass and honeycomb aroma, not strong. Murky ochre, medium yellow head. Caramel and pine, grass, vague grapefruit. Full body easy carbonation, chewy. Nice balance, a little stale. I bet I’d love this fresh at the brewery.

2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a murky copper color with a large foamy white head that dissipates quickly. Nice strong aroma of typical IPA hops... Very bitter taste, though, and not the pleasant hop bitterness some IPA’s offer, either. Under the bitterness is some citrus. It’s got many of the buzzword tastes for the style, but they don’t really mesh, resulting a peculiar "off" quality for me.
