It’s not as heavy bodied and malty as many IPA’s, in contrast the palate is more crisp and dry. If you consider yourself a "hop-head" you owe it to yourself to grab this beer.

Enjoyed on tap in a shaker glass. The beer pour a light copper color, with a low off-white head. The outstanding quality of this beer seemed to be a relative lack of hop "punch," both in the aroma and palate. Hops were evident, but both of the aforesaid seemed quite tame in comparison to the best examples of the style. Aromas of herbal and floral west coast hops come through, followed by an assertive bitterness. However, the beer lacked the resiny, flavorous hop presence that separates average IPAs from great ones, especially those portending to be of the "West Coast" variety. The general character seemed more of an APA than IPA. Overall, certainly not a flawed beer, but relatively lacking in assertiveness.

On tap at Archive Beer Boutique. Rating from August. 2013. Nice IPA this one with a good balance of hops. Not over the top ridiculous in the hop department.

Cloudy amber body with particles and a white head. Very nice strong fruity hoppy aroma with grapefruit, orange, mandarin, caramel, red grapes, a bit apple and pine. Realy nice, brilliantly balanced flavour with caramel, red apple, strawberries, pine, pear and mango.

Light amber color with a one finger head. A nice citrusy and hoppy aroma. A good mild taste of hops, citrus and slight pine. Good but not outstanding. Definitely try it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft served at The Winchester, Grand Rapids. This is a finely balanced IPA. Pours a deep amber/caramel color with plenty of liveliness to the carbonation and the appearance too. Very drinkable, with a good depth of hop flavor and very slight citrus undertones.

This may be better than the Crooked Tree Double. On draft at the Railroad in Linfield. The beer poured a dark yellow-straw color, but didn’t have a whole lot of head to it. The flavors were outstanding, though. This is one delicious beer. I tasted lots of pine and citrus notes, along with the spicy and floral hops. The beer is balanced quite nicely with a generous helping of toasted malt and caramel. This is an excellent IPA.

Tasted from draft. Pours super murky orange color with white head. Aroma is citrus and floral hops. Taste is grapefruit, orange, papaya and floral flavors. Pretty bitter overall with minimal malt backbone. Great flavor. Medium bodied. Love the taste. Definitely a top tier IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
