Draft at the Dark Horse 4 Elf Party, December 2012. Black body, thin cream head/ring. Tart nose, roasty. Bitter and tart body with dark burnt sugars and roast interplaying with sweet and sour blackberry and blackberry skin. Clean. I really liked this.

Sampled at 2013 MBG Summer Festival. Aroma is sour raspberry mixed with light roast. The bitter roasted coffee taste mixes well with the sour raspberries. Light oak barrel in the finish. Pretty smooth. Would like to try again sometime.

wmubronco1992 (611) - Coldwater, Michigan, USA - DEC 10, 2012
Draft at Dark Horse 4 Elf Party. Pours black. Small tan head. Aroma of tart cherry. Sour flavor with just a little bit of chocolate and roast. Medium palate, sour finish. Nothing wrong with this beer, but I’m really not a fan of sours. Heard this was good so gave it a try. Still not a fan, but appreciate the effort and it appears that other raters have liked this.

Ughsmash (7128) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 12, 2012
On tap at GTMW. Poured deep brown with a toasty dark beige head. The aroma picked up sour, metallic notes and bourbon over unidentifiable black malts.. did not make me want to drink it. The flavor was sour, with vinegar, bourbon, and metal over the same malts as the nose.. still not enjoyable. Very sour on the palate, and hard to drink.. I wanted to like this, but it just didn’t come together for me.

esjaygee (3903) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 9, 2012
On tap at GTMW 2012. Brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted sweet malt, raspberry, mild smoke and light chocolate. Taste of mild raspberry, deep roasted malt, smoke and finishes up mildly bitter with some tartness to boot.

On tap at the GTMW, one of the best of the entire fest in my opinion, pours black with a nice brown head and lacing, the aroma has a good amount of oak, chocolate and raspberries all put together, the flavor is actually a little sour on the front end with a nice sweet finish of oak and chocolate, very nice.

Pouring at GTMW 2012 Black pour huge tan head. Slightly sour cherry/raspberry mixture in the nose over a touch of roasted malts. Avg pal. Tart fruity taste dominates and saturates this thing. Oak comes through on the very dry finish. Not very good overly tart and too dry in the end. I was excited to try this, wanted to like it, and was very disappointed.
