3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Bestway.
Pour: Amber with red hue. Frothy beady collar of foam.
Aroma: Gnarly piney oak nose.
Taste: Hops pushed forward by the dense oily caramel malts. Interesting mouth feel. Thick to the palate. Alcohol evident throughout the tasting.
Overall: An interesting experiment, kind of like dropping a huge engine in a perfectly fine car. Too complex IMHO. An assault on the senses. An ok DIPA, but just too much going on to be a fav.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Haskells. Dark orange almost tan. Thick white head. Piney, syrupy, some sour fruit aroma. Lots of layers of flavor. Wet and hoppy with strong alcohol notes. Coats the mouth, warming. Not as expected from a dipa. Very interesting, even if not my favorite.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Guess I better say something since I’ve got this more than enough times in trades.
Most of the time in a snifter but actually twice in a chalice, interesting, sigh, no difference for the most part.
The appearance was mostly a somewhat golden amber to gold looking color.
The aroma is mostly bitter in the format of an AIPA to slightly showcase a decent malt background.
On the palate, it sits about a light to medium on the body. With a mostly somewhat sessionable sort of quality trying to compound this beer.
Overall, hey now, I say this is a good beer.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz. bottle from Appalachian Vintner, Asheville, NC (listed as 12% ABV). Darker than normal orange pour with a short off-white head. Heavy amounts of caramel and toffee malts, tangerine, wet grass, and pine needles in the aroma. The taste is an assault of grapefruit, pine, caramel, and booze resulting in a warm, bitter, and sweet delicious beer. Everything lingers on the palate. Awesome beer!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I think I got an old bottle little hop aroma on the nose, lots of malt though, caramel and biscuit notes. Taste is very much the same a little hop bitterness and piny resin but not what a double IPA should be

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a murky golden color with a foamy white head. Has a sweet citrus hops aroma. Flavor is sweet citrus and caramel, finished by a moderate dose of dry hops. Has a full body feel and goes down smooth. This is a very solid double IPA, though it doesn’t seem to have anything to stand out from most other dipas. Perhaps aging it will change that, as this does have a surprisingly high alcohol content, though you don’t taste any of the alcohol.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Got as an extra from Bergodd1, thanks again. Pours a deep orange hue with a thin filmy head. Aroma is malt forward, banana, bready, cerealy malts but not much hops. Taste is spice, grassy, and earthy. The 12% abv is very present. As it warmed up caramel sweetness was much more prevalent and really changed this beer.

Draft, dinner with Dave and C. Dark orange, light citrus and floral nose. Soft carbonation and flavors. Tropical fruit, peaches, mango. ABV very well disguised. Thick and chewy, sweet and syrupy.
