COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Have you read the description for the regular Crooked Tree yet? Well this beer is almost the same just double. We actually took the Crooked Tree recipe and doubled all of the ingredients except the water, just the way a DOUBLE should be made. Big hops balanced with tons of malt give this beer a huge body. Although this beer is as cool as "the Fonz" when first purchased, it gets really mellow and smooth with some age. After a year or two stored in a cool dark place you'll notice the heavy caramel and malt flavors are trying to sneak past the hops, they’re just not fast enough. This beer is hugely delicious so it will need your undivided attention (the chores can wait....trust us). 98 IBU's

The beer has a pleasant citrus aroma. The beer is buttery in the mouth with some acidity to balance. The beer’s taste is balanced with interesting hop and good malt backbone. It is a fine beer.

Look - Dark orange body. Light white head that sticks around. Smell - Orange. Apricot. Malt. Grass. Alcohol. Taste - This DIPA oddly got better with age. Subdued alcohol. Oranges. Lemon. Malt. Feel - Heavy. Creamy. Not too carbonated. Overall - Pick it up. 12% makes it very sneaky. First bottle I couldn’t fast it. A few months later, very good.

Can smell the hops before it comes to the table. Tons of resin in the nose. Orange and slightly cloudy brown. Taste is well balanced EXTREME hop bitterness. Totally full bodied, slight heat in the finish but not overly boozy. Sparkling crisp hops dance on your tongue and develop to a deep complex forever lasting aftertaste. Awesome...

On tap at local craft brewer. Poured into 10 oz snifter. Dark amber color, nice lazy head with very hoppy aromas. Hints of orange, floral, and some darker fruit (raisin? plum?) along with the faintest scent of alcohol. Taste is big and bitter, but very complex. Very smooth and easy to drink; surprising for a beer at 21% ABV. Not quite good enough to crack the top five, but probably hovering around the top ten.

Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree is a rich red amber clear brew with a firm head of tan bubbles. lively carbonation. Nose is crisp, slightly sweet, strong with floral and evergreen hops. Taste is lightly sweet with a bit of a clover honey taste. body is fluid but lively. a bit of hops on the finish. a very nice beer. not nearly as hoppy as the nose advertises, but that isn’t a bad thing as all.

Bottle from Malts Attacks. Murky orange-amber, small off-white head.aromas marmalade, hops, orange zest in chocolate, plums, honey, even hints of coffee - as if a cross between imperial ipa and imperial stout. Taste goes in the same direction; bitter-sweet, long hoppy finish. Very special, complex beer.
