COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Have you read the description for the regular Crooked Tree yet? Well this beer is almost the same just double. We actually took the Crooked Tree recipe and doubled all of the ingredients except the water, just the way a DOUBLE should be made. Big hops balanced with tons of malt give this beer a huge body. Although this beer is as cool as "the Fonz" when first purchased, it gets really mellow and smooth with some age. After a year or two stored in a cool dark place you'll notice the heavy caramel and malt flavors are trying to sneak past the hops, they’re just not fast enough. This beer is hugely delicious so it will need your undivided attention (the chores can wait....trust us). 98 IBU's

The beer has a pleasant citrus aroma. The beer is buttery in the mouth with some acidity to balance. The beer’s taste is balanced with interesting hop and good malt backbone. It is a fine beer.

Bottle. Pours amber, clear with noce head. Aroma of pine, resin and tropical fruits with strong malty side. In taste sweet, malty and catamely withpiney flavours. Strong grapefrut bitterness, sticky texture. Alcohol almost not noticable in 13%ABV beer. Fantastic.

Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen - pours orange amber with a white head. Aroma and taste comprises sweet tropical fruits, prominent grapefruit, tangerine, citric peel, big sweet malty backbone, caramel, toffee, resinous herbal hoppy, pine needles, bitter finish. Beast of a IIPA.

Redish color with little foam. Forest (pines) hoppy notes. Thick mouth feeling, light boozy with a sweet hoppy bitterness. The aftertaste is dry smooth and tart. This beer is very nice, but be careful. This is a trojan beer: you see one beer, but two more are hiding in the alcohol content.

Hazy orange color with big white head. So much spruces, grapefruit, cat piss. Tastes like a Tannenzapfen in syrup. Huge residual sweetness, oily mouthfeel. Crazy. It’s got it all, but doesn’t fit together perfectly.

Poured from a 12oz bottle at home... Can definitely smell the booziness from the bottle. Very big beer...13.6%...not a lot of burn, but some is present. Lots of malt in this beer - huge body - just as advertised.

Redbronze, cloudy with yellow head. Malt, meat, fruit in the aroma. Sweet, caramel, with dry caramelly alcohol bitterness in the aftertaste.

RBAG 2015. Sampled from a brown 12oz. Aged sample, 2008 vintage. Poured out brownish a a small thinly beaded white head. Sweet notes in the nose - toffee, some fruit, some alcohol and unknown spice. Actually really surprised that this held up so well, I wish we could have had a fresh bottle to contrast, but quite interesting.
