COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Have you read the description for the regular Crooked Tree yet? Well this beer is almost the same just double. We actually took the Crooked Tree recipe and doubled all of the ingredients except the water, just the way a DOUBLE should be made. Big hops balanced with tons of malt give this beer a huge body. Although this beer is as cool as "the Fonz" when first purchased, it gets really mellow and smooth with some age. After a year or two stored in a cool dark place you'll notice the heavy caramel and malt flavors are trying to sneak past the hops, they’re just not fast enough. This beer is hugely delicious so it will need your undivided attention (the chores can wait....trust us). 98 IBU's

Hold onto your hat when you take your first sip of this, slams you with flavor, hops and alcohol. This beer has some interesting berry notes you don’t normally find in an IPA but holds the same hoppy, piney traditional characteristics. Still seeing how this ABV will affect me, should be a good night.

Poured into SA Perfect Pint showing a finger and a half of copper tinged white foam and dark caramel brown practically opaque. The nose shows a lot of sweet malts with faint notes of tropical fruit and a honey in the background. The palate is medium bodied and lightly carbonated. A lot of sweet caramel malts are apparent on this making it much more akin to a Belgian Ale. The bitterness doesn’t really appear until after sipping hence giving the a much more Pilsner-like finish rather than the sharp bitterness from most IPA’s. A slight spiciness lingers on the tongue but does not bring any heat hence probably more likely to be lively carbonation on the finish. In conclusion, I’d say this is one of the few IIPA’s that is actually over malted.

Tap: Had this beer on tap a few times & multiple times out of the bottle, also at different ages. First off, when the label of a DIPA says "AGES WELL", I have a problem with that. A goddamn IPA should not fucken age well. I don’t understand what the deal is with this beer. It falls in line with Devil Dancer for me. A overdone, overloaded, messy pile of rubbish. Nose is super sweet, pungent, oily. Bitter resin, solvent, booze, sticky sweet caramel, ghastly perfume. Flavor is even worse, heavy pine, fusel alcohol, solvent, pungently sweet malts, onion, syrupy thickness. A hint of nice tropical mango is the only reason this didn’t get a "1" for taste. This is not a goddamn DIPA. Regardless of what you want to call it, though, it’s just not good. Messy, unrefined, cloying, harsh, the list goes on.

12oz bottle. Poured a hazy copper color with a small off-white head. Aroma was a lot of pine resin, some herbal, orange notes. Flavor was boozy pine resin notes. Orange citrus notes, lots of alcohol heat on this one. Bitter, boozy.

Kåda doft som går igen i smaken. Alltså kåda, karamell en jävla massa beska bomb men rätt bra balans med malten som är lite bärnstensfärgad & alkoholsötma. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Flaska delad med JanVah på Sorbon. Underbara dofter av tropisk fruktaffär. Perfekt balans mellan sötma och beska. Ljuvlig fredags-aw.

På flaska @ Sorbon. Mörk bärnstensfärgad. Doftar härligt av honung. Smakar sött blommigt med en svag beska.

Aroma is thick from tough and violent malts, woodwork in the rain and some badass hops. If you inhale really long, you almost get a bit insta-drunk, cause theres a lot of alcohol in the smell. The taste is like smearing your face with flower nectars and then ram it down in a ground dwelling wasp nest. A thick, sweet malt body with an almost oily touch with an instant attack from the hop sting which follows you all the way to the long finish. Ligthly carbonated and with a touch of alcohol. This is a sipper
