COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Have you read the description for the regular Crooked Tree yet? Well this beer is almost the same just double. We actually took the Crooked Tree recipe and doubled all of the ingredients except the water, just the way a DOUBLE should be made. Big hops balanced with tons of malt give this beer a huge body. Although this beer is as cool as "the Fonz" when first purchased, it gets really mellow and smooth with some age. After a year or two stored in a cool dark place you'll notice the heavy caramel and malt flavors are trying to sneak past the hops, they’re just not fast enough. This beer is hugely delicious so it will need your undivided attention (the chores can wait....trust us). 98 IBU's

Dark orange color with a thin creamy head white head. Huge heavy aroma. Very attractive aroma of malt, alcohol, and deep robust hops. Full bodied, very different but very nice. Didn’t notice the alcohol till after I finished the bottle. This was a beautiful beer.

Wow, I love this beer. It is what a IPA (or double IPA) should be. It will kick your ass and you will say, "Thank you sir may I have another." The answer its, "hell no, you are worthy". Wwwell, the truth is with a 13.6 ABV one is all you need. The color is not so good. A bright translucent orange. So what, it is a great beer.

Pours hazy dark amber with low white head. Aroma of caramel malt, butterscotch, light hops. Taste is boozy with light hoppiness. Creamy body, low carbonation. Maybe old? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

First time ever having Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree, poured darker than I expected being an IPA which was really peaked my interest. It has a solid aroma and is an overall great beer.

Bottle, thanks dEnk! Hazy copper to amber pour. Aroma full of resin, floral hops, alcohol, varnish, pine and some spices. Flavor is deep lingering hoppiness, slightly warming and very bitter. Still well balanced and smooth. Huge brew.

12oz bottle poured into FFF imperial pint glass. Pours a very murky dark copper with a small off white head that lingers all the way down the glass. The aroma is tons of malt and hops. The hops are certainly the dominating factor in this beast of a brew. There is certainly a hell of a malt backbone to balance it out. Lightly carbonated with a sticky mouthfeel. This is a great brew that would be a fantastic year round release.

12oz bottle poured to what almost looked like apple cider unfiltered. dark murky orange colorwith whitish head that just lingered with the lacing. aroma is a big nose of hops, resinous and citrus. plus a tad of caramel and malt. the first taste tingled the taste buds with pure bliss. the hops are strong and bitter and citrus and gooey. it just lingers and lingers on the tongue..huge malt backbone to support all these hops. the alcohol is well hidden.

355ml bottle from Ølbutikken

Pours clear dark orange with a small bubbly head. Aroma of fresh hops, caramely malts, fruits, lemon and citrus. Taste is quite fruity and hoppy with loads of malts, citrus, lemon and warming alcohol. Finish is hoppy and fruity with some sweet malty notes. Quite tasty and hoppy DIPA with a massive malty backbone.
