COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Have you read the description for the regular Crooked Tree yet? Well this beer is almost the same just double. We actually took the Crooked Tree recipe and doubled all of the ingredients except the water, just the way a DOUBLE should be made. Big hops balanced with tons of malt give this beer a huge body. Although this beer is as cool as "the Fonz" when first purchased, it gets really mellow and smooth with some age. After a year or two stored in a cool dark place you'll notice the heavy caramel and malt flavors are trying to sneak past the hops, they’re just not fast enough. This beer is hugely delicious so it will need your undivided attention (the chores can wait....trust us). 98 IBU's

I’m a moderate hophead with a long penchant for IPA’s, but I am not liking the cut of the Imperial IPA jibb. This is as good as any double IPA as any maybe better than most. The hops are harsh and aggressisve in the aroma. Pours a nice hazy tangerine. Some hotness from the alcohol but it is overwhelmed by the hop liquor. Not my favorite beer, but I am trying to rate to style and this, as stated above, is better than most.

12 oz bottle. Thanks Timo A! Clear amber golden color with a small off-white head. Dark fruity hops, moderate bitterness and sweet malt in the aroma. The flavor is sweet malt, sweet hops, alcohol and some herbal notes. Strong. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours reddish brown, haze/opaque, with stable creamy white head which stays for a few minutes. Aroma is gorgeous: basket of tropical/mediterranean fruits (oranges, mango, kiwi, lemon, avocado etc.), without any trace of an alcohol (12% abv.?!). Flavor: Alcohol is mild noticable. Malt sweetness is high (prevails notes of wheat, bread, with hints of caramel), but is almost perfectly balanced with hop bitterness, which is medium/high (prevails esters of tropical/mediterranean fruits, with some floral and even spicy notes. body is soft and almost like by barley wine sticky. Carbonation is soft. Very proper Imperial Ipa.

Poured from bottle. No date on bottle so I have no idea how old this is. Dark amber color with off white head. Aroma is grain, caramel malt and pine resin. Syrupy mouth feel. Rich caramel malt start with brown sugar. Some fruity flavors in the middle. The finish is pine resin. Some lingering bitterness and booziness.

Heavy malt and caramel aroma. Quite a bit of sediment floating in it after the pour with even more at the bottom of the bottle. Malt flavor is blatantly dominant with a slight caramel left on the palate, followed by a warming alcohol feel. Pretty darn good, but at $7 a bottle I probably wouldn't get it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bold malt aroma. Rich hazy brown body finger thick fine foamed head. Deep malt taste balanced with bitter bite, so well so it gives it smooth sipping quality. Only by it warming your palate does it give away it’s Imperial strength of 12.0% ABV(as per bottle label).

33cl bottle poured into a shaker. Dark amber/light brown colour with a thick off white head which lasts to the (bitter) end. Aroma is strong hops (as you would no doubt expect) but less overpowering than other DIPAs there is clearly a lot of malt at work here. Taste is very malt dominated with the hops becoming more evident as it warms up. I served this chilled and the taste profile evolved massively as it warmed. Almost barley wine sweetness with a pine, resinous and grassy hop profile which are in such massive quantities you could hardly suggest it is balanced but all the aspects are here. Very, very good example of the style and wonderfully over the top. Will seek out again.

Bottle. Sensoric. Deep amber, very little hasy with white, semi-densed, medium head. Nice lacing and medicore head retention. Nose is ripe fruits, fresh, resinous, plums rasins. Also strong sweet caramel aroma, light boozy character. Taste is sweet and semi-bitter in the end. Full body, thick and sticky texture, average carbonation, finish is semi-bitter and short, light to medium alcohol warming.. In overall big beer - ABV is 12%, packed with caramel and fruits with medium hoppy character.

Bottle. Pours amber, clear with noce head. Aroma of pine, resin and tropical fruits with strong malty side. In taste sweet, malty and catamely withpiney flavours. Strong grapefrut bitterness, sticky texture. Alcohol almost not noticable in 13%ABV beer. Fantastic.

Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen - pours orange amber with a white head. Aroma and taste comprises sweet tropical fruits, prominent grapefruit, tangerine, citric peel, big sweet malty backbone, caramel, toffee, resinous herbal hoppy, pine needles, bitter finish. Beast of a IIPA.
