COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Have you read the description for the regular Crooked Tree yet? Well this beer is almost the same just double. We actually took the Crooked Tree recipe and doubled all of the ingredients except the water, just the way a DOUBLE should be made. Big hops balanced with tons of malt give this beer a huge body. Although this beer is as cool as "the Fonz" when first purchased, it gets really mellow and smooth with some age. After a year or two stored in a cool dark place you’ll notice the heavy caramel and malt flavors are trying to sneak past the hops, they’re just not fast enough. This beer is hugely delicious so it will need your undivided attention (the chores can wait....trust us). 98 IBU’s

I’m a moderate hophead with a long penchant for IPA’s, but I am not liking the cut of the Imperial IPA jibb. This is as good as any double IPA as any maybe better than most. The hops are harsh and aggressisve in the aroma. Pours a nice hazy tangerine. Some hotness from the alcohol but it is overwhelmed by the hop liquor. Not my favorite beer, but I am trying to rate to style and this, as stated above, is better than most.

On tap at RCBW 2016. Hazy, dark orange, amber colour. Thin line of white froth around the glass. Lots of apricots, hints of tea, sweetness in the aroma. Very apricoty beginning. Hints of black tea. Fruity, citrussy, bitter finish. Bit spicy, slightly herbal aftertaste. Quite interesting DIPA.

Quite huge DIPA, bold in every aspect, but never gets over the line. Juicy fruity cocktail with citrus, tropical fruits, some decent pine kick. Feels oily. Light sweetness with moderate to intense bitterness,

Taster pour at Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Across America. Aroma is malty base with fruit. Appearance is cloudy light brown-orange with small foamy white head. Taste is dominant malt with some fruit. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, average carbonation and mix of sweet and bitter finish. Overall, a nice beer with strong malt and hop flavors and mix of sweet and bitter while avoiding being too bitter.

Bottle, 0.355l. Pours hazy brown color with large soapy tan-like head, nice lacing, yeast sediment and sparkling appearance. Aroma of tropical fruits, dark fruits, caramel, vanilla and herbs. Taste starts with sweet caramel and toasted malt, following is grainy and by dark fruits, mouthfeel is spicy, warming and alcoholic with bitter finish and long aftertaste. Full body, thick texture and average carbonation in palate. Too strong for my DIPA liking...

Pours dark orange/copper with nice foamy head. Aroma: firstly the malt sweetness clearly dominates, followed by biscuit, pine tree, figs. Taste: again very malty, but also nice hoppy pine and herbs. Palate is nicely long. Alcohol is warming but we’ll hidden.
