Have you read the description for the regular Crooked Tree yet? Well this beer is almost the same just double. We actually took the Crooked Tree recipe and doubled all of the ingredients except the water, just the way a DOUBLE should be made. Big hops balanced with tons of malt give this beer a huge body. Although this beer is as cool as "the Fonz" when first purchased, it gets really mellow and smooth with some age. After a year or two stored in a cool dark place you’ll notice the heavy caramel and malt flavors are trying to sneak past the hops, they’re just not fast enough. This beer is hugely delicious so it will need your undivided attention (the chores can wait....trust us). 98 IBU’s

12oz bottle of unknown age picked up after Thai food in Oregon neighborhood. Pours a nice bronze color with a big, foamy, tan head. Pretty big aroma where the caramel malt notes actually dominate the initial hoppiness. The biggest thing I can’t believe about the flavor is how well the 13+ ABV is hidden. Although well disguised, I think the booze might dominate the other flavors.

From tap at Fermentoren Aarhus as 12%. Pours a reddish, darkish amber with a small, off white head. Aroma has heavy caramel malts, old orange, old hops, very oldschool. Taste is very caramel sweet up front, actually quite nice, but gets replaced by a very high bitterness, that reminds you that this is not a barley wine, just an old IIPA, haha! Full bodied and with an average to low carbonation.

12 oz bottle. Bottle almost 2 months old and seems to have turned toward a little malty and less hops. Much like a young barleywine. It's nice but not as I had expected. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at RCBW 2016. Hazy, dark orange, amber colour. Thin line of white froth around the glass. Lots of apricots, hints of tea, sweetness in the aroma. Very apricoty beginning. Hints of black tea. Fruity, citrussy, bitter finish. Bit spicy, slightly herbal aftertaste. Quite interesting DIPA.

Quite huge DIPA, bold in every aspect, but never gets over the line. Juicy fruity cocktail with citrus, tropical fruits, some decent pine kick. Feels oily. Light sweetness with moderate to intense bitterness,

Taster pour at Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Across America. Aroma is malty base with fruit. Appearance is cloudy light brown-orange with small foamy white head. Taste is dominant malt with some fruit. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, average carbonation and mix of sweet and bitter finish. Overall, a nice beer with strong malt and hop flavors and mix of sweet and bitter while avoiding being too bitter.
