Have you read the description for the regular Crooked Tree yet? Well this beer is almost the same just double. We actually took the Crooked Tree recipe and doubled all of the ingredients except the water, just the way a DOUBLE should be made. Big hops balanced with tons of malt give this beer a huge body. Although this beer is as cool as "the Fonz" when first purchased, it gets really mellow and smooth with some age. After a year or two stored in a cool dark place you'll notice the heavy caramel and malt flavors are trying to sneak past the hops, they’re just not fast enough. This beer is hugely delicious so it will need your undivided attention (the chores can wait....trust us). 98 IBU's

12 oz bottle, says it ages well but IPAs really don’t. Pours into my American pint glass a clear orange/reddish brown with a thick foamy off white head. The head sticks a good deal but doesn’t leave a large amount of lacing. The smell is exceptional here. It is bright and hoppy, but also with a ton of malt. It smells very sweet with orange, citrus, and grassy vegetal hops. This is one HEAVY beer. The anti-establishment beer. It is a DIPA to the max, almost barleywine territory. The hops are super orange/grapefruity and piney and very bitter. The malt is thick and biscuity. There is also a ton of caramel flavor here. The mouthfeel is super thick, far more than many russian imperial stouts I have had. But the carbonation is there. The alcohol is evident in the taste and how you feel after plunging through one of these but for the most part the alcohol is masked well. If you like everything double, for real double, this is for you. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 04-12-2010 21:15:26

Pours orange brown with a clingy off white head. Aroma of cereal, caramel, pineapple, pine. Very caramel, brown bread and molasses malty with some orange and grapefruit hop. No date on the bottle, but I think this is well past being a dipa. Still, not too bad.

A Mid-West classic. First tried it at the brewery, and have been hooked on the bottles ever since; both tact basically identical. A chewy mouthfeel with a sweet malt profile that dominates the taste; if you like MW style IPAs, this will be a favorite for you. Theres bitterness, but it never infringes on the flavor. Just a great go-to beer if you can find it regularly.

A dense orange beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is like apricot wine and vanilla. The flavor is fruity, herbal, wood, and boozy.

355ml bottle from Beers of Europe. 12% these days, by the way. Pours clear amber, thin white head. Aromas of wood alcohol, pine. Taste is oily, malty, sweet, alcohol burn. Medium body, slick finish. Just ok, thought it would be better.

Good deep pine hop nose. Big stewed banananose ib glass. Big thick sappy body with a final sweaty twist.Followed by some burring acidity. Dark indian red colour with a light off white head.

Bottle, ABV 12%. Hazy dark amber pour with tan head. Aroma is strong with flowers on sweet malty base. Lots of peach and citrus. Taste is overwhelming. Instant bitterness on top of sweetness. Balanced although on the sweet side. Quite high carbonation. The ABV is felt but not in a bad way.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours amber with a off white head. Taste Carmel, sweet, citrus. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
