Pours a murky copper-gold, with minimal head. Strong floral/citrus aroma. Flavor is bitter, grassy, citrus, a real Cascade showcase. Pretty good IPA.

arminjewell (6158) - Farmington Hills, Michigan, USA - AUG 22, 2014
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, hazy dark orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of pine, lemongrass, orange, some grapefruit into some grass, pine, touch of caramel, toffee. Taste is a mix of orange, grapefruit, lemon, grass, pine, touch of grain, some caramel, finishing bitter. Pretty nice, better than the first variety.

Bottle. Amber pour with white head. Smells of malt and hops with a slight sourness. Tastes bitter with a little bit of a lingering bitter aftertaste. Decent ipa ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at Daily Growler UA. Slightly hazy orange color with a medium thin eggshell white head that recedes steadily to a film. Strings of lacing on the glass. Citrus, hops and malt in the nose. Medium-bodied with flavors of earthy hops, citrus and sweet malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle... Cloudy amber pour with an off-white head. The aroma is all things Cascade - musky, pine, grapefruit - and sugar cookie. Medium-bodied with a thin mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Well-balanced grapefruit rind flavor. Short, crisp, clean finish. Bottle courtesy of FlandersNed!

solid, hops a poppin, really serious hops, very bitter and strong, a bit overpowering but still enjoyable if you are a hop head...enjoyable

Murky, dark copper color. Floral and some citrus hops on the aroma. Taste is floral, citrus, a nice bitter bite and quite a bit of malt sweetness balancing things out. Not a bad mod of Crooked Tree.

Bottle from DarkHorse 12pk. Poured slight hazy with thinning light beige head. Aroma of citrus tropics min resin. Light carb tingle with med bod. Light dry bitter resin taste.

Older bottle as the yeast seemed really built up on the bottom of the glass. Nice white head with good lacing. Cloudy amber color. Nose is that familiar cascade citrus and floral aroma. Some sweetness. Very clean aroma and taste. Taste is citrusy, floral and well balanced by malts. Medium to light body with a bit of bitter bite. Crisp and clean finish. Quite enjoyable, if not as dynamic as the beer it is based on. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is grapefruit, orange, a weird spice that reminds me of peppercorns. Appearance is a pretty dark amber, unfiltered so nothing is getting through, looks like apple cider. Taste is immediately malt, then a weird balancing act between malt and hops that makes it taste light in flavor, finishes somewhat bitter but definitely missing it. Mouthfeel is nice, decently thick with moderate carbonation and the flavor hangs a bit. Overall, though not bad, I am a touch disappointed because of how much I enjoy regular Crooked Tree. Still, worth trying.
