Another disappointing recreation of Crooked Tree, with cascade looking pretty mediocre despite it being one of my favorite hops, just light citrus aroma and flavor, medium body, generic with a bit too much bitter/sweet going on simultaneously.

A golden ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, fruity biscuit malt with floral hops, light must. In mouth, a grassy malt with herbal bitter hops, white grapefruit, nice.

Rustico, Arlington tap: Pours copper with a whitish head. Aroma is slight caramel malt backbone with a hefty helping of citrus, especially grapefruit. Taste is bitter in the normal west coast IPA type of way. Body is well balanced. Although as if we need anyone to tell us that cascade works with IPAs.

July 5, 2013 - bottle shared by Brett. Cloudy golden orange pour with limited head. Slight citrus and floral bitterness and malty. Solid, like the citra version just a bit more though.

I have to say I think this is the beer I had at Mad Mex. certainly name spelled backwards. Very nice. Enough to have two pints. A rather light version California IPA.

Finhead (1147) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - JUN 27, 2013
Hazy, dark copper pour with a white head. It has a nice aroma mixed with light pine, grapefruit, and some mild floral notes. The body is light with an oily texture and average carbonation. The taste is bittersweet with a slightly more bitter finish. The dryness of the finish makes this one go down fast. Definitely the best of the three single hops.

12 oz bottle. Another hazy golden amber pour and off-white head. Grassy hop aroma leads, floral as well and some caramel. Flavor is grassy backed up with some floral and grapefruit, with light biscuit at the end. There’s a sharp bitterness to this version in particular that’s pretty nice. "Grassy" is normally a hop flavor that I find to be a drawback, but I really like it here. For me that makes this one the most interesting single-hop version out of the three in the Dark Horse pack and kind of redeems the whole pack for me.
