Dark Horse Crooked Tree with only Cascade hops.

The bottle said unfiltered, but no trace of sediments in the color. A bit more brown than a typical IPA. I’ve had Crooked Tree before as well as the FF variety. The citrus and the bitterness are all there, but I feel like this beer is more of a character study about cascade hops than an actual alternative to Crooked Tree. I learned more about identifying cascade from this beer, but I’d take the original for a real drink.

What da heck is this name? I thot it was spelled rong at the bar. On tap at the rivertowne, Irwin. Mild haunting hop perfume greets the olfactory. Taste is much less in the impact than what was expected. initially this stuff is friendly and fairly mild but as the session continues, there is this astringent hop kick that pierces the palate. Yes, nice head stays a tad rocky. Bitterness continues to build and finishes with the most impact right at the end. Leaves you wondering. Finish is the peak of the hops, wew. If it wasn’t for the screetching finish, I’d day this is an apa.

Another disappointing recreation of Crooked Tree, with cascade looking pretty mediocre despite it being one of my favorite hops, just light citrus aroma and flavor, medium body, generic with a bit too much bitter/sweet going on simultaneously.

A golden ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, fruity biscuit malt with floral hops, light must. In mouth, a grassy malt with herbal bitter hops, white grapefruit, nice.

Basic beer in aroma, taste and mouthfeel with a deep brown pour. Easy drinking beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rustico, Arlington tap: Pours copper with a whitish head. Aroma is slight caramel malt backbone with a hefty helping of citrus, especially grapefruit. Taste is bitter in the normal west coast IPA type of way. Body is well balanced. Although as if we need anyone to tell us that cascade works with IPAs.

July 5, 2013 - bottle shared by Brett. Cloudy golden orange pour with limited head. Slight citrus and floral bitterness and malty. Solid, like the citra version just a bit more though.

I have to say I think this is the beer I had at Mad Mex. certainly name spelled backwards. Very nice. Enough to have two pints. A rather light version California IPA.
