Bottle. Pour is a nice brownish gold with a medium-sized head and aromas of lemon peels. Flavor is light and refreshing with a cat pee and lemon hoppiness to it that is clean and balanced. Not sure if I really get into this beer or not, it seems kind of boringly middle-of-the-road IPA, but definitely a cool concept.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2013 Read review for other dark horse very similar. Hops give slight flavor differences. Not my favorite

Pours hazy amber with medium white head and some sediment floating around. Aroma is earthy straw and grassy hops. Taste is earthy and resinous upfront with some spruce/pine hops on the follow through. Aftertaste is lingering bitter dank piny hops. Palate is thin and somewhat sticky. Overall this one was just okay for me.

Draft at Capone’s. Pours turbid dark straw with off-white head. Nose is bready pale malt, resiny hops, tropical fruit. Tastes as it smells, with assertive tropical fruit and resiny hop notes.

Stupid name. Orange pour, small white head. Citrus sweet hop aroma, resinous bitter hop flavor with bitter dry finish. Pretty good!

7/20/2013 and 7/21/2013: Dark Horse F.F. Dekoorc Eert - I don’t have much, if any, experience with Falconer’s Flight hops, but the description of them sounds fantastic: "Falconer’s Flight™ is an exclusive proprietary hop blend created by Hop Union to honor and support the legacy of Northwest brewing legend, Glen Hay Falconer, who passed in 2002. The blend is comprised of many of the Northwest’s most unique hop varieties, including Citra™, Simcoe®, and Sorachi Ace along with experimental hops and numerous other NW varieties. Perfect for any Northwest-style IPA. Each hop has been hand selected for its superior aromatic qualities, imparting distinct tropical, citrus, floral, lemon and grapefruit tones." Given that, I was expecting A LOT from this beer. Unfortunately, this beer fails to showcase the hop at all. If anything, it doesn’t do the hop justice at all or maybe the hop just isn’t that great with so many characteristics muddled together. At any rate, this particular brew is fairly bland and lacking in bitterness. The hop flavors are slightly herbal, somewhat floral, and just a bit of grapefruit rind on the end. Overall, this IPA is fairly generic and actually below average. I was quite disappointed, to say the least.

Draught (sample and growler fill) at Party Town in Florence, KY. Rating #70 for this beer.

Sample at the Hills Market beer tasting on 07/25/2013. Pours a hazy orange-amber color with a medium white head that diminishes gradually. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, pine and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, roast malt and fruit. The finish is moderately bitter with an herbal hops aftertaste. Decent overall.
