3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 4/5/2013. Pours cloudy orange amber color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big pineapple, passionfruit, grapefruit, orange zest, tangerine, lemon zest, floral, pine, grass, caramel, bread, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of hop notes with moderate malt balance. Taste of pineapple, pine, grapefruit, tangerine, orange zest, lemon zest, floral, grass, bread, caramel, and floral earthiness. Sizable pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pineapple, pine resin, citrus, citrus zest, floral, grass, caramel, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice flavor balance and complexity of hop notes with light-moderate malt balance; with minimal cloying bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, crisp, and sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice IPA. Good balance and complexity of hop flavors with solid malt balance; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle pour to shaker. Pretty mild. My least favorite of the three Crooked Tree single hops, but still good.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours dark orange/copper with a white head, poor retention/some lace. Aroma of citrus, orange candies, pine. caramel/light toast malt. Taste is bitter, pine/citrus hop, caramel, earth. Palate is soft, a bit oily, bitter finish. Not as memorable as the others.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. The aroma is really non existent. The taste has the least amount of bitterness of the three.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours an orange tinged deep gold with a healthy white head. Aroma is very earthy. Taste has an early hit of dirt, tailing into earthy grapefruit with declining bitterness, mild carbonation and ending with more earthiness. Interesting, but not something I’d want as a steady diet.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAY 25, 2013 Draft. One of the best IPAs I have ever had. Juicy almost berry-like aroma and flavor. Nectar of the gods.
Bottle it was hugely disappointing.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz Bottle. Herbal, pungent aroma, with lilac, cream, and a bit of simcoe cattiness. The hop flavor body is dry, dusty, and a little too green and pelletized for me. I just had a beer brewed with only Falconer’s Flight last night and the aroma was much more subdued than this, but the flavor was much more expressive, with pine, citrus and a nice bite. The middle of this beer is much and too heavy on the chlorophyll. I think this beer is probably a good example of pellet hops can create some real undesirable side effects. The least favorite of the three single hops Crooked Tree’s I’ve had.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle, thanks to Casey. Mostly hazy orange color. Lots of particles in the body. Good thin white head. Decent lace. Medium-plus body. Good smooth lighter carbonation. More dry in the finish. Still easy to drink. More so right now than the citra and cascade versions, actually. Not as spicy. Still some spicy hop, but no spicy bite. Some orange-citrus. Light pepper. Good bready biscuity malt profile. Nice light zesty sweet taste, and a solid overall bitterness. This is a solid, tasty IPA. I’m actually finding it to be better-balanced than the citra version.
